From the Desk of Fr. Underwood:

The Magi Show Us The Way! Today we join with the
Three Wise Men, the Magi, as we come to Jesus
offering Him gifts - the gifts of ourselves. With the
Wise Men, we follow the signs that God gives us in our
lives - signs leading to Christ. What are these signs for
you? Are you paying attention to them? Are you
listening to Jesus? Are you courageously responding to
God's call? Be a gift to Jesus with your life!
The Christmas Season Has Been Beautiful: I have been
amazed at how, in so many ways, our parishioners have demonstrated that we
care greatly for others. Jubilee Christmas, the Advent Outreach Collection,
Friends and Neighbors taking gift baskets to Rosewalk Village, Christmas
Caroling in Nursing Homes, Visits to Shut-in Parishioners, Our Parish Wish
List, School Children providing food baskets for Thanksgiving, those quiet
gifts from the heart, and so many more things. These ways have truly helped
us to prepare for the birth of Our Savior and bring the love of Christ to
others. I am so proud of you!
Thank you also to so many people who are helping make our Christmas
Season so prayerful and festive - liturgical ministers, art & environment
volunteers, and musicians. Together we praise Christ our Savior!
Wine, Cheese, Art and Everything Chocolate! A few years ago, I hosted a
really fun evening called "Wine, Cheese, Art and Everything Chocolate". It
was an event with great food, wine and beer, chocolate desserts, entertainment,
and an art auction of works from local artists. In addition to a really good
time, we raised some much-needed money for Catholic Education.
I will be sponsoring this event once again, right here at St. Lawrence Saturday,
January 17th from 6:30-8:30pm. Our goal is to raise $30,000 that night to help
with much-needed maintenance issues and upgrades to our current St. Lawrence
buildings. The goal of this event is to "Secure the Future." Tickets are available
for purchase after Mass, in the parish office or by calling Fr. Underwood
at 765-742-2107. Tickets are only $25 per person and space is limited.

Marriage Moments &
Parenting Pointers
January 2015
Marriage Moment The feast of the
Epiphany on January 6 celebrates the three
wise men bringing gifts to the baby Jesus.
Why not be wise and bring your spouse three
compliments on January 6. Consider your
beloved's physical appearance, a unique
talent, and an act of kindness.
Parenting Pointer On the 9th Day of
Christmas 9 Ladies Danced. But dancing is
not only for ladies and true love is not only for
newlyweds. Try dancing with your child(ren).
It needn't be ballroom; it needn't have
partners; it needn't even be good dancing.
Share a dance from your childhood with your
children. It could be serious or silly, from the
waltz to the hokey pokey. Let them share
their style of dance with you - if you dare.
Moving together can be joyous.
