Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too
hard for you (Jer, 32:17, NIV).
A new year has dawned. Many of us resolve at this time to discipline ourselves, to develop better habits, to grow and to be
more pleasing to the Lord and to others. In 2015, let's resolve to pray fervently for Muslims, remembering that our
Sovereign Lord, the Creator of all, can turn their hearts toward Him. God bless you as you intercede.

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

COTE D'IVOIRE: A missionary/alumnus reports that more than 50 people accepted the Lord at a Christmas
campaign. He asks for prayer for the follow up and discipleship phase. Many of the new Christians are from a
Muslim background. Pray that the Lord will meet the varying spiritual and social needs of each one as they become
established in their new faith.
SIERRA LEONE: Please pray for the wife of an Assemblies of God church leader here, who is a nurse helping to
fight Ebola in the predominately Muslim town where they live. This past week two of her close colleagues died of the
virus. She is currently taking a short leave; pray that the Lord will encourage and strengthen her. Continue to pray for
these on the front lines. On a positive note, many Muslims continue to visit churches and seek counseling from pastors
as this crisis continues. Pray their eyes will be opened and they will find eternal life.
TOGO: An alumnus writes of a young man who has resolved to follow Jesus, abandoning Islam despite all its
privileges. He is surprised to find there is such liberty in God, since he has met Jesus. Pray fervently for him, as he is
suffering persecution. They have already taken his barber shop from him. He is not allowed to speak to anyone in the
home. Pray for his spiritual growth and for his silent witness among his family and community.

In the News
On December 21, security agents in Sudan arrested a South Sudanese pastor after he preached at an evangelical
church in Khartoum. His message: stand firm in the face of persecution. In the weeks preceding, police had looted and
damaged the church and harassed members. Muslim investors are claiming the property. Sudanese security forces are
authorized to arrest Christians or anyone seen as opposing Islam. Pray for the release of this pastor. Pray that the Lord
will encourage this body and help them to stand firm, and that the expression of their faith would be a strong
testimony. See more at http://tinyurl.com/lweoxnk.

From Global Initiative*

Pray for the safety and encouragement of Christian workers in Afghanistan. Of Afghanistan's 31 million people, 99
percent are Muslims.

For Muslim Women**

Please pray for a specific group of North African Muslim female converts, that they would be encouraged and
strengthened for the challenges they face.
