Veeam ONE

Free vs. paid: Whats the difference?

Veeam ONE is a powerful monitoring, reporting, and capacity planning tool for VMware
vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V. It helps enable Availability for the Modern Data Center by
providing complete visibility of the IT environment so you can detect issues before they have
operational impact.
Veeam ONE is available in a Full and Free Edition. By installing a purchased license key, Veeam ONE Free Edition can easily be
upgraded to the Full Edition, including a number of additional advanced monitoring, reporting and capacity planning features.
The capabilities of Veeam ONEs two editions are compared in the following table.

General
Deployment scenarios

Install all Veeam ONE components on the same physical or virtual server, or
choose the advanced deployment option for a distributed installation. All but
the advanced deployment option is available in the Free Edition.

Performance data

View and analyze historical performance data to understand trends and facilitate
troubleshooting. For the Free Edition, the monitoring console displays data for
the last 7 days, and performance reports are limited to the previous 24 hours.

Alarm modeling

Model an alarm against past performance data to understand potential alarm

frequency and avoid issues like inadvertent alert storms and missed events.

and management

View and manage processes running on servers, hosts and VMs. Process names
are masked in the Free Edition.

customized report template.

Pull data from any field and from any report into one, all-purpose document
