After several months of delay, there has finally been news of the Malaysia
Airlines Flight 17 wreckage. The jet transporting 298 passengers went down in July
near a rural area in eastern Ukraine. The recovery process began, according to
Dutch officials. They reported that the transport of the wrecked aircraft will take
several days, and key factors like security and such will be noted each day. The
officials and investigators are intending to rebuild a section of the jet, as the
wreckage moves toward Kharkiv, Ukraine, and then the Netherlands. Pro-Russian
separatists have been accused by several western nations along with the Ukrainian
government that they shot the plane down with a missile. However, the Russian
government has denied and disputed that.

This event does not directly affect me, and not much of the US either. However,
this event shows how simply conflict can arouse. This also shows how the world is
advancing and how we can take time off of one case and almost automatically
continue, as well as find a lead. The fact that we are retrieving and transporting
parts of the aircraft is amazing. The fact that we are using these pieces in an attempt
to rebuild/construct the same aircraft is extraordinary. It truly shows how
technology has advanced and all the new and amazing ways we can find/make
evidence. And throughout the next few days, we will surely see if the reconstruction
of the MH17 aircraft provides any evidence towards the case.
