General principles
1.Actions taken by the administrator are to be upheld
2.Moderators should be unbiased in any situation, never taking one
side of a battle until all facts and sides are heard(preferably not in a
main chat).
3.Moderators should always uphold their chat rules, even against a
friend.
4.Moderators should obey their chat rules.
5.Moderators should not ban for fun, or delete things for fun
excessively.
6.Moderators should not discuss others bans or issues in chat.
7.Moderators should not unban other bans without prior permission
from the mod or admin

Moderator Terms

warning #

Message 3: This

Trolling - Sending messages with the aim of inciting an angry response or

misleading someone
DDoS - distributed denial-of-service attack - an attempt to make a machine
or network resource unavailable to its intended users.
Phishing use of links or other methods to obtain accounts illegally

The Warning System

2/3 Warning Banning
This involves giving two warnings for multiple breakage of the rules.
Warnings should not exceed 3. For users that do not know the rules/new.
Warning should be stated clearly.
Warning 1: First warning, please stop this.
Warning 2: This is your second warning. Next time you will be banned.

Ban Length
Ban lengths should be stuck to unless you, as the moderator that
banned the user, thinks otherwise. Permabanning for petty offenses is wrong
and as a moderator should not arise. If it ever does occur, notify the user
that their ban length has changed.

Unacceptable forms of Modding

1.Mod baiting- deliberately provoking a user to be able to ban them

2.Banning for personal reasons unrelated to chat rules

3.Making up stupid rules unrelated to general rules or chat rules to
ban someone
4.Banning without any warnings or telling the user
5.Disrespecting other mods or users in chat

Modding Techniques
Delete breakage of rules.
When you warn/ban, give the reason for which you are
warning/banning for.
Control the chat at mod discretion. If you need help, contact another
mod or admin.
Send users to the next chain of command person if they have issues.
It may be appropriate to post rules to users that have not read them.
Time-out ban users when appropriate to control a chat.
Do not keep giving out warning to the same person

Phishing and DDoS

Phishing is an attempt to gain access to an account not of the persons

own. This can be done through links, and even other chatango chats. If you
are asked to log in when already logged in, do not enter your details, and
exit the page. Do not click links in chat or in PMs unless you know the person
and trust them. If your account was hacked, change your email and
password. You can even deleted and remake your account under a different
email and pass.
DDoS (distributed denial-of-service attack) is simply a hacker threat to
overload a sites servers with pings to make in unavailable to the intended
users. Any mention of this word from angry users should be reported to
admins or site staff to be taken care of.
