I. Title of the Proposal

Palarong Pinoy for the People Residing in Purok 11-A

II. Rationale
During our area scanning in the previous Saturdays, we have observed a lot of problems
and concerns in our assigned community. We have observed that the place is prone to
flashfloods, the elder people of the community is in need of assistance primarily medical, and
we have observed that very few children are outside playing games. And if ever we see some
children playing, they would just use a stick or a bike tire and play games using those materials.

Nowadays, people are very hook up with technology. And because of that, people would
just want to stay at home and face their gadgets all throughout the day. Not only adults face
this fact, but as well as the children or the youth. It is alarming to see that the streets are empty
during Saturday mornings when it is used to be filled with children playing, running, and
laughing around. And because of this concern, we wanted to conduct a Palarong Pinoy in our
assigned community.

III. Project Purpose / Objectives

i.

To provide an avenue for the children in the community to play.

ii.

To instill and imbibe among the children in the community the spirit of discipline,
teamwork, excellence, fair play, solidarity, sportsmanship and other values inherent in
sports.

iii.

To help some families through the prizes that could be won in different games and
activities.

iv.

To introduce a healthier lifestyle particularly to the children which they can apply for a
better living.

v.

To develop a sense of unity and cooperation in the community.

IV. Expected Outputs

i.

That the children or the youth will participate actively in the activities and events.

ii.

That the youth/children will be inclined to sports and healthy living.

iii.

That a greater bond or a deeper connection will be formed in them.

iv.

That they will be reminded of the importance of eating healthy foods, proper food
intake, and healthy living.

v.

That we will see happiness and enjoyment in the eyes of the residents of the
community.

V. Activities/Strategies
The activity Palarong Pinoy is for the purpose of establishing a better relationship
among the community members, to raise awareness about the importance of healthy living,
and to instill different values that the different games impose. Also, this activity aims to
encourage the youth to engage in sports and other wholesome activities instead of doing
unwanted actions or bad habits such as joining gangs, drug addiction, and other unwanted
actions and bad habits. Moreover, to ensure that they will continue this kind of lifestyle, we
will be giving them sports equipment such as balls for basketball, volleyball, or even soccer ball
that they can borrow in the barangay or in the school.
