Prerequisites
Download the R12 media from http://edelivery.oracle.com/
Install VirtualBox from here http://virtualbox.org/ , if you are on
debian or ubuntu based host systems the default virtual box that comes with
apt-get install virtualbox will not be the version. Hence it is preferable to download the latest version from going to this link. https://www.virtualbox.org/
Check the version of the kernel

EBS R12.2.4 installation.

Installation
Create a new virtualbox and boot from the installed
iso file V52218-01.iso. Choose the default options.
Please ensure that you have at least 300 Gig of space
available on the mount point.

Prerequisites

Upon finishing proceed with the installations of

Guestadditions in order to do that we have to download the appropriate kernel headers.

The oracle R12 is supported on

OEL version 6. Here is the command to check

If public-yum-ol6.repo exists go ahead and remove it.

#[root@myserver yum.repos.d]# wget http://public-yum.oracle.com/p
Edit the public-yum-ol6.repo file to enable the ol6_addons channe
#Find the ol6_addons section and change enabled=0 to enabled=1.
#yum install kernel-uek-headers;
Once guest additions are enabled. Through shared folders we can host our
operating system that contains the media and mount it.
mount -t vboxsf MYR12MED /mnt
We can get all of the dependent rpms with this one single line.
#yum install oracle-ebs-server-R12-preinstall.x86_64
cd /mnt/R12/startCD/Disk1/rapidwiz/rapidwiz
Configure network.
cat /etc/hosts
# cat hosts
127.0.0.1 ebs.myserver.com ebs
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
cat /etc/sysconfig/network
root@ebs121 tmp]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network
NETWORKING=yes
NETWORKING_IPV6=no
HOSTNAME=ebs.myserver.com
Configure oraInventory.
vi /etc/oraInst.loc
inventory_loc=/d01/oraInventory
