Academic Projects
Project #1 (M.Tech thesis)
Tools Used
Supervisor

: Some Aspects in Automatic Generation Control.

: Matlab
: Prof. J.Nanda & Dr. Sukumar Mishra

Comparison of different classical controllers in multi area reheats thermal system.

Parameter optimization is done using BF optimization Technique.
Performance of IDD controllers in AGC.
Effect of delayed controllers in Two area reheat thermal system.
Modeling of Combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT)power plant and dynamic
performance under small step load perturbation with different classical controllers.
Design of optimal quadratic state feedback regulator controller and optimal quadratic
output feedback controller in CCGT for AGC.
Wind integration with an isolated system having generation from CCGT/steam power
plant.
Project #2 (M.Tech minor proj): Steady state voltage stability analysis of power
systems with high penetration of wind.
Tools Used
: Matlab
Supervisor
: Dr. Sukumar Mishra
Along with historical time series data and combining power flow, economic dispatch and
unit commitment we have seen a methodology that is suitable for analyzing voltage
stability of a system with high penetration of wind.
Project #3 (B.Tech main proj) : DC Injection breaking of 3 phase induction motor.
Breaking time of 3 phase induction motor was controlled by controlling the gate current
of SCR.
