Non-standard discrete jobs can be used to control materials and resources and to collect costs for
a wide variety of miscellaneous manufacturing activities such as rework, field service repair
upgrades, and engineering prototypes. You can optionally assign an assembly to a non-standard
job, and choose whether to specify a job quantity.
In this topic, you will define a non-standard job on the Discrete Jobs page.

Step Action
12. Non-standard discrete jobs do not earn overhead on completion - material overhead
at completion is posted directly to the subinventory material overhead account.
Select an asset type nonstandard accounting class because the job is building assets.
Step Action
13. Enter the desired information into the Class field. Enter "Rework".
Step Action
14. When you define a job, its status defaults to Unreleased but can be changed.

Step Action
18. The MRP Net quantity is derived from the job start quantity. For non-standard
discrete jobs without
assemblies, the default is zero.
Step Action
19. Click in the Dates: Start field.
