1. SCOPE
This procedure covers of Radiographis Testing requirements for groove welds in
Butt Joints in the plate, shapes and Bars bu X-Gamma ray sources.

2.2 PT. SUCOFINDO.S Written Practice Proc. No. : OP001-NDT-RKT-2006
3. PERSONNEL QUALIFICATION
All level of NDT Personnel shall be qualified an certificad in accordance with the
PT. SUCOFINDOS written Pratice Proc. No. : OP001-NDT-RKT-2006
3.1 Testing shall be conducted by
a. Qualified NDT Level II individual or
b. Qualified NDT Level I and working under the NDT Level II
3.2 Certification of level I and Level II individuals shall be performed bu a Level III
individual who has been certified by ASNT or has the education, training
experience, and has success fully passed the written examination prescribed
in SNT-TC-1A, 2001 Education, as a guide
4. SURFACE PREPARATION
4.1 Removal of Reinforcement
When the Contract documents require the removal of weld reinforcements,
the welds shall be prepared for RT by grinding, Other weld surfaces net not
be ground or otherwise smoothed for purpose of RT unless surface
irregularities or the junction between weld and base metal may cause
objectionable weld discontinuities to be obscured in the radiograph.
4.2 Reiforcement
When weld reinforcement or becking, or bath, is not removed or wire IQI
alternate placement is not used, steel shims which extend at least 1/8 in (3
mm) beyond threes slides of the required hole type IQI shall be placed under
the hole type IQI or wire IQI, so that the total thickness of steel between the
hole type and the film is appoximately aqual to the average thickness of teh
weld measured though its reinforcemets and backing.
5. EQUIPMENT / ACCESSORIES / CONSUMABLES
Radiographs shall be made using a singlet source of elther X or Gamma
radiation.
5.1 Sources
5.1.1 X-ray with maksimum of 600 kVp or iridium 192 may be used as a
source for all RT provided they have adequate penetrating ability.
OPERATING
PROCEDURE FOT
VACUUM TEST
1. Scope
This procedure provide the requirement and acceptance standard to perform
vacuum test inspection on bottom and/or roof plate of existing and/or new
fabrication and installation of storage tank.
2. PURPOSE
Vacuum test have proof to ensure the weld joint will not be leaki for further
operation. Vacuum testis conveniently methods using metal box testing with a
glass at the top (inspections window) and using suction pump for pull out the air
in the vacuum box.
3. REFERENCE

- API Std 653 : Tank Inspection, Repair Alteration and Reconstruction
4. PERSONNAL
Personnal performing Vacuum testing should familiar and also has sufficient
experience in performing the activity.
5. PROCEDURE
2.1 Prepare all of the equipment use for the test as follows
- Vacuum box
- Suction Pump
- Pressure Vacuum / Manometer Gauge
- Water Sprayer
- Soap Solution
- Flash Light
