After getting an I-20 from USA Universities / Colleges, the student should book an appointment date for
VISA Interview through VFS Website i.e., http://www.vfs-usa.co.in and the printout of the appointment
date has to be taken for the interview.
Following List of Documents to be carried for the Interview
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS :
Photo Specification
The photograph to be digitized must be at minimum 2 inches by 2 inches (51 mm x 51 mm) color photo,
plain background.
The scanner resolution should be set to a minimum of 300 dots per inch or 300 pixels per inch.
The digital photograph should be saved as a high-quality (low-compression) JPEG image file.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS :
All academics starting from 10th in original
TOEFL/IELTS/GRE/SAT/GMAT score sheets
Extra Curricular Activities & Merit Certificates
Chartered Accountant certificate
All supporting documents for the C.A. Certificate
o Proof of Movable Assets such as:
UTI/MIP/ULIP/LIC/NSC/KVP/IVP/NSS/PF/PPF/GARTUTITY/SHARES/DEBENTURES/BON DS/FDs in Non
Banking Organizations such as ICICI, Nagarjuna Finance, ITC Classics etc./ household effects /
jewellery / vehicles / Advances all in orginal.
o FDR's / Bank Passbook / Monthly Statement along with Bank Certificate in original but not later
than 10 days old.
o Proof of Income-Salary Certificate / P & L Account for Business Income / Income Tax Returns /
Declaration of the tenant and Rental Receipt for rental income / Block Development Officer or MRO
certificate for agriculture income in originals.
o Proofs of Immovable Assets-valuation papers from Govt. Approved Valuers / Architects /
Engineers / Registry of Property / Power of Attorney / Title Deeds / Sale Deeds / Sale Agreements
etc.,
Work Experience Certificates, if any.
Leave letter from the employer if leave is sought or any fresh jobs offer in India, if any.
Affidavit of Support from Sponsor - Parents / Brother / Spouse / Sister Relative etc.,

After preparing all the above documents with supporting documents, the student should be ready to face
the personal interview.

What are your qualifications till date? % secured and when did you complete your last
qualification?
Why have you not taken the same course, available in India too?
What are your plans after finishing this course? What are your future plans?
How many universities did you apply to? Which are they?
Why have you chosen only this University for your further studies?
How can you convince me that you are not a prospective immigrant?
Who are your sponsors? Where did they get this money from?
Have you hired any consultant for admissions and Visa processing?
If given an opportunity to work in USA after completing your studies, will you come back to India
or settle there in USA?
If visa office is satisfied with the answers they will collect the passport and stamp the visa and the same
will be delivered to the residence of the student with in a week.
Note :A student can apply for F-1 visa to the Embassy, any day within 120 days of the date of
reporting as mentioned on I-20. The student is not permitted to enter the USA beyond 30 days
in advance of the reporting date
