Description of Paces Sheffield:

Paces Sheffield was established in 1995; the organisation was born out of the experiences
of parenting children with physical disabilities and their related learning difficulties; this
involved parents who had seen the benefits of conductive education at first hand.
Conductive education was developed by the world-renowned International Pto Institute in
Budapest, Hungary for children with motor disorders (typically cerebral palsy).
Paces Sheffield is a registered charity; the organisation recognises the needs of the
families and carers of disabled children as well as the children themselves, taking into
account their need for independence as well as inclusion in wider community life.
Parents, staff and trustees have overseen the growth of Paces as a charity, with the school
gaining Non-Maintained Special School status in 2009 after various successful Ofsted
inspections.
The school was rated 'Outstanding across the board by Ofsted in October 2013.
Paces Sheffield is a model of specialist educational provision based within an inclusive
