MASTER CONTROL

We accept electronic files from various delivery systems including, but not limited to, the
companies shown below. Due to IT policy restrictions and volume of incoming media, we
are not able to take delivery via ftp sites. Comcast Spotlight provides Comcast
AdDelivery Lite as a free alternative for you to upload to us. Directions for this service
are provided later in this document.

Another method you may send your electronic media to us is via Data DVD, CD or a Flash
Drive. You may send to the address listed on the Physical Media page. We will be unable to
return your media so make sure you retain a copy for your archives. The MCC retains
media for 14 months and then it is purged.

ELECTRONIC FILE SPECIFICATIONS

For electronic files, what works for one broadcast or cable system may not work for
another. We have compiled specific file settings you should use to ensure your file will
playback properly and with the highest possible quality on Spotlight systems. You need
only submit one file, HD or SD, at exactly ready to air length. The MCC will create any
versions necessary from that file, maintaining proper aspect ratio and quality.
It is important that you read and follow the file specifications that follow to ensure your
file will be compatible and to avoid any delays in fulfilling your order.
Comcast AdDelivery will alert you if any of these specs are out of range so you will know
up front if your file is compatible. We hope this immediate feedback will help meet
deadlines and get the best on-air quality for your client. If you have specific questions or
issues, feel free to contact us 24 hours a day using the info at the bottom of this page.

If you are a returning Sender, simply enter your email address and password. If you are a first time
Sender, click on Register.
Important Reminders:
Email addresses and passwords are case
sensitive.
Do not use the back button on your
browser to navigate through the
Comcast AdDelivery Lite
application. Doing so will cause
you to leave the application.

Complete the fields on the Registration screen. When you are finished, click Create.

An End User License Agreement will pop up. Scroll down and click I Agree to continue the login
process (this will only appear the first time you log into the application).

1 How to Submit Media

When you log into Comcast AdDelivery Lite you will be directed to the Submit Media screen where you
enter spot/media information and upload media files. You can also navigate there directly by clicking on
the submit button on the left side of the screen.
Important Reminder:
All spots must be ready to air without slates or black. Please be sure to refer to the Comcast
AdDelivery Lite File Format Specifications document to see your file format choices. Your spots must
be formatted in one of these formats in order to upload successfully.

Enter the Client Name and Agency Name if you know them.
Enter the Title of the spot. The Ad ID/ISCI Code field is optional. If you dont have an Ad ID/ISCI
code, the system will automatically assign your spot an ID number to easily identify your spot.
Next, choose the duration of the spot from the drop down menu. Spot durations can range from: 05 to 5
minutes in length.
Choose the Comcast Spotlight Operations Center that is to receive the media file from the drop down
menu within Destination. If you are unsure which Operations Center to choose, please see Appendix
A: Operations Centers and their Markets on page 12.

TIP: The Addl Recipients box is a good place to enter your Comcast Spotlight Account Executives email
address and any others who should receive an email notification that the ad youve sent has been delivered to
the Operations Center.

To attach a spot, click on Browse, which will open up a window where you can select the media file
from a folder on your computer.

Comcast Spotlight | Southern Division | Master Control Center

770-559-2794 souspo-mcc@cable.comcast.com

Click Submit.

Once you click on Submit a row populates inside the Active Submits table at the bottom of the page.
Use the green scroll bar on the right side to move down to the table. You will see information on your
spot in the row including an Upload Progress bar. While that spot is uploading, you can continue on
and upload more spots.

Important Reminder:
Do not close your browser window or navigate away from page until the file upload is complete. If you need to go to another
page during upload, open a new browser window or tab, which will keep the upload running in the background. If you close
the window, lose your Internet connection or otherwise interrupt the upload, the job will revert back to the Pending Media
status, and you will have to re-upload the spot to complete the transmission.
Comcast Spotlight | Southern Division | Master Control Center

770-559-2794 souspo-mcc@cable.comcast.com

You will also receive Notices in the top right corner of the screen telling you the status of your spot.
For example:

2 How to Know If Your Spot Has Been Rejected

If the spot you have uploaded is not in accordance with one of the formats on the Comcast
AdDelivery Lite File Format Specifications sheet and/or is not in a ready-to-air layout (just the spot
itself), it will be rejected very shortly after submitting it. You will get a Notice telling you that it rejected
with a details link to tell you why it was rejected. At the same time, you will receive an email telling
you that your spot rejected with the reasons why. This email will contain a direct link to the guides
page where you can download any of the documents that will help you to reformat your spot.

Tip: Please ensure your file is exactly the amount of frames required. The tolerance is only +/- 3
frames, so be as precise as possible. Example: A 30 second SD file with a frame rate of 29.97
should be exactly 900 frames. A file greater than 903 frames or less than 897 frames will fail or cause
delays.
