os recursos de rede em solues Netb@nd . Disponibiliza

mecanismos para construo da topologia de rede,

AGORA-NG Resource Manager system provides capabilities

to manage Netb@nd network resources. It enables

operators to build the network topology, to perform resource
configuration and activation, and to handle network faults
and performance degradation.

arquitectura AGORA-NG , baseada em middleware J2EE,

CORBA e Web Ser vices, e usa tecnologias JAVA,
XML/XSLT e IGU web-based.

AGORA-NG Resource Manager system follows AGORA-NG

architecture based on J2EE, CORBA and Web Services
middleware, and uses JAVA, XML/XSLT and web-based
GUI technologies.

Construo da Rede

Network Construction

O sistema AGORA-NG Resource Manager armazena toda a

informao de cadastro da rede no repositrio central, designado
por Network Inventory. Este armazena a informao da topologia
da rede e dos recursos geridos (localizao, identificao e
configurao) utilizado nos processos de proviso e superviso.

AGORA-NG Resource Manager system has a Network Inventory

repository which supports the provisioning and assurance
operations at resource management layer. It stores the network
topology and the information (location, identification and
configuration) of all managed network resources.

O mdulo Topology Management disponibiliza as ferramentas

grficas necessrias para os operadores construirem a topologia
da rede, com recurso a entidades do tipo domnio gerido,
subrede e ligao.

Topology Management module provides graphical tools for

operators to build the network topology, using managed
domain, subnetwork and topological link entities.

Os novos elementos de rede so detectados automaticamente

pela funo Network Auto-discovery, que os insere no inventrio
aps validao pelo operador.

New network elements are automatically discovered and

inserted into Network Inventory, by Network Auto-discovery
process, which cyclically inquires the network.

Reserva, Configurao e Activao de Recursos

Resource Provisioning, Configuration and Activation

Todas as operaes sobre recursos so controladas pelo Resource

Order Management, que o crebro do sistema. Este mdulo
contm uma mquina de execuo de processos (BPM engine),
que controla o workflow definido para cada pedido (resource

order) proveniente do AGORA-NG Service Manager e/ou da

camada Access Layer (IGU clients or B2B GW).

All operations performed on resource entities are controlled

by Resource Order Management, the brain of AGORA-NG

Resource Manager. It includes a business process engine
inside which controls the workflow of the process defined for
each type of resource order. Resource orders can come from

AGORA-NG Service Manager and/or from the Access Layer

(GUI clients or B2B GW).

Os pedidos provenientes do AGORA-NG Service Manager so,

tipicamente, pedidos de reserva e de activao de recursos,
nos contextos de atribuio e activao do servio, respectivamente.
As operaes disponveis so: Trail Provisioning, Trail
Activation,Trail De-activation, Trail Cancel, Trail Test, etc.

Os pedidos provenientes de clientes AGORA-NG Resource

Manager so, tipicamente, de configurao de recursos de
elemento de rede e de configurao de ligaes. As operaes
disponveis so: Port Configuration, Download Configuration,
Synchronism Configuration, Firmware Download, XConnect
Configuration, Link Activation, etc.

Orders coming from AGORA-NG Service Manager are usually

to request resource provisioning (assigning resources to services)
and resource activation in the context of service activation.
Typical orders are: Trail Provisioning, Trail Activation, Trail Deactivation, Trail Cancel, Trail Test, etc.

Orders coming from AGORA-NG Resource Manager GUI are

typically for requesting resource configuration in the context
of network element or link configuration. Typical orders are:
Port Configuration, Download Configuration, Synchronism
Configuration, Firmware Download, XConnect Configuration,
Link Activation, etc.

O mdulo de Resource Provisioning responsvel pela reserva

e libertao de recursos no inventrio. Inclui algoritmos de
routing genricos que podem ser parametrizados com regras
definidas em formato XML.

Resource Provisioning module reserves and frees network

resources on network inventory. It includes a powerful routing
algorithm which is technology agnostic and can be
parameterized with rules to define routing constraints in XML
format.

O mdulo de configurao e activao de recursos (Resource

Configuration & Activation) de rede recebe os pedidos
provenientes do Resource Order Management e converte-os
em comandos a enviar para os elementos de rede. A introduo
de novos tipos de elementos de rede simples e rpida,
requerendo apenas a construo de scripts XSLT para cada
tipo de equipamento.

Resource Configuration & Activation module is implemented

by Network Activator component. It receives orders from
Resource Order Management and translates them into set/get
commands to send to network elements. Adding new network
elements support is simple and rapid and only requires the
definition of XSLT scripts for each type of equipment.

Atravs do mdulo Network Auditing garantida a sincronizao

do cadastro existente na base de dados com a informao real
da rede.

Network Auditing process cyclically compares the configuration

information stored on Network Inventory and the real
configuration stored on network elements. It advises operators
which can act accordingly.

Network Fault and Performance Degradation

Falhas e Degradao da Rede

A gesto de falhas assegurada pelo produto AGORA-NG Alarm
Manager. O elevado nvel de integrao das aplicaes do

AGORA-NG , permite aos operadores abrirem janelas do AGORA

NG Alarm Manager directamente do AGORA-NG Resource

Manager, facilitando as tarefas de operao.

As falhas na rede so representadas nas interfaces grficas dos

clientes AGORA-NG Resource Manager, atravs de um

mecanismo normalizado de cores, que reflecte a severidade do
alarme.
O sistema AGORA-NG Resource Manager disponibiliza funes
bsicas de gesto de desempenho. Este recolhe os dados de
desempenho e de utilizao dos recursos de rede para um
repositrio centralizado. Actualmente so recolhidos dados PDH
G.826, SDH G.828 (port, HOP e LOP), ATM port, VP e VC e
Ethernet RMON MIBs.

O sistema AGORA-NG Resource Manager disponibiliza relatrios

em formato tabular. Para gesto avanada de desempenho deve

ser utilizado o produto AGORA-NG Network Performance

Manager.

AGORA-NG Alarm Manager is the fault management application

of AGORA-NG suite. Due to the high application integration

of AGORA-NG suite, operators can open AGORA-NG Alarm

Manager windows directly from AGORA-NG Resource Manager.

Graphical visualization of network faults is provided on AGORA

NG Resource Manager GUI. Affected entities change color to
present the corresponding alarm severity. Standard code colors
are used.
AGORA-NG Resource Manager system performs basic
performance management. It collects performance and usage
data from network resources into a centralized database. It
supports generic data collection including: PDH G.826, SDH
G.828 (port, HOP and LOP), ATM port, VP and VC and Ethernet
RMON MIBs.

AGORA-NG Resource Manager system reports are presented

on tabular format. For enhanced performance management

functions AGORA-NG Network Performance Manager is

required.
