SCOPE
Data scope is directed by Pzers EHS Standards and includes all sites within Pzers operational control. Environmental data from Pzers former Animal Health business is excluded in 2013.

NOTES
Industry Average = Pharmaceutical Safety Group benchmark.

All environmental data is baseline adjusted in accordance with the WRI Protocol for reporting GHGs.

The increase in ODP from 2012 to 2013 was the result of

an unexpected release from refrigeration equipment at a
manufacturing site in 2013. Despite this release, from
20102013 there was a 13% reduction in ODP. In 2013,
reduction in the use of ODS continued.

NOTATIONS

GHG = greenhouse gas

VOC = volatile organic compound

Pfizers global injury rate, which is based on OSHA recording

criteria, has been below the peer industry average for the past
four years. Total injury rate in 2013 was 10% lower than in
2012. Sadly, two Pfizer colleague fatalities occurred in 2013.
Injuries involving 1 or more days away from work. The increase in
2013 was observed in manufacturing operations.
Pfizer has achieved an approximate 7% absolute reduction in
GHG emissions in 2013 compared to 2012. In 2013 Pfizer set its
3rd generation public goal which aims to reduce GHG by 20% by
2020 when compared with a 2012 baseline.

Our total water withdrawal in 2013 was 4% lower than in 2012.

In 2013 Pfizer set a public goal to reduce water withdrawal
excluding non-contact cooling water (water withdrawn from
and returned to the same source) by 5% by 2020 when
compared with a 2012 baseline. Pfizer will continue to
optimize performance.
In 2013 Pfizer established a public goal to reduce hazardous
and non-hazardous waste disposal 15% by 2020 compared to a
2012 baseline. We made significant progress toward this goal in
2013, reducing total waste disposal by 10%.
Hazardous waste generation decreased compared to 2012
largely due to reductions in solvent waste from manufacturing
operations. 24% of Pfizers hazardous waste was recycled, this is
the same as the recycling rate in 2012.

Non-hazardous waste generation decreased slightly compared

to 2012 due to consolidation of operations. 62% of Pfizers
non-hazardous waste was recycled in 2013, as compared to
64% in 2012.

Pfizers Fleet Safety Program has launched in 32 countries and

covers approximately 90% of our fleet. Recorded collision rate
decreased 2% compared to 2012.
Without lessening risk tolerance, a risk priority ranking tool was
used in 2012 and 2013 resulting in fewer onsite assessments
than previous years. Where necessary we worked closely with
suppliers to provide guidance on Pfizers EHS performance
expectations.

Settlement costs were paid to address matters where

non-compliance with EHS regulation or law was alleged. Per SEC
regulations, Pfizer reports penalties paid of $100,000 or more in
its SEC filings.
= decrease (reduction)
= increase

2010 injury and illness rate data represents 60% of Pfizer colleagues while 2013 data represents >95% of Pfizer colleagues, therefore the actual change

20102013 may be lower than reported.
