BADMINTON (MEN&WOMEN)
MEN:
1. Minimum 4 players required per team.
2. 3 singles and 2 doubles in the order Singles, Singles, Doubles, Singles &
Doubles will be played.
3. The event will be played following the international Badminton rules.
4. It will be a knock out format with each tie decided on best of 5 matches.
5. One player can play a maximum of 2 matches (1 singles & 1 doubles).
6. Each match will be best of three sets, each set being a race to 21 points.
WOMEN:
1. Minimum 2 players required per team.
2. 2 singles and 1 doubles in the order Singles, Doubles, Singles will be played.
3. The event will be played following the international Badminton rules.
4. It will be a knock out format with each tie decided on best of 3 matches.
5. One player can play a maximum of 2 matches (1 singles & 1 doubles).
6. Each match will be best of three sets, each set being a race to 21 points.

THROWBALL (WOMEN ONLY)


1. Each team should consist of seven (7) players at time of play.
2. The team shall consist of 7 active players and 5 substitutes.
3. The match should be played for best of 3 sets for 25 points in each set with
rally score.
4. Any ball to be released should be released from above the shoulder/shoulderline only.
5. The ball has to be caught with both the hands and returned in one hand only.
6. Service ball should not touch the net.
7. Double touch is not allowed for the service ball.
8. The ball should be served after the whistle & within 5 seconds.
9. Serve the ball only from the service- -zone & without crossing the end line.
10.Any ball falling on the box line or in the dead zone is a foul.
11.Any ball after catching (during rally) should be released within 3 seconds.
12.During the rally, ball can touch the net.
13.Body touch- during catching or releasing the ball should not touch any part of
the body except the palm.
14.Dubs- while catching, the ball should be caught simultaneously with both the
hands.
15.Two players cannot catch the ball simultaneously.
16.Any ball (service/rally) falling on the side-line or the end-line is a good ball.
17.The players should stay in 2-3-2 position at the time of service.
18.Shifting the ball from right to left or left to right is not permitted.
19.Pushing the ball deliberately is not permitted.
20.The service ball or the rally ball should not touch the antenna.
21.5 substitutions are allowed for each set.
22.Two time-outs of (30 seconds each) are permitted for each set.

23.The players should wear proper uniform (shorts & jersey), with numbers
printed on both front & back sides.
24.Numbers from 1-12 should only be used.

TABLE TENNIS (MEN & WOMEN)


1. Minimum 4 players per team for boys and 3 for girls.
2. The event will be played following international TT rules.
3. Knockout format with each match having 5 ties (2 singles, 1 doubles & 2
singles).
4. Men: It will be a best of 5 format for matches (including semis and finals).
A player can play a maximum of 2 matches (2 non-consecutive singles or 1
singles & 1 doubles).
5. Women: It will be a best of 3 format for matches (2 singles & 1 doubles)
&a player can play a maximum of 2 matches (1 singles & 1 doubles).

BASKETBALL (MEN & WOMEN)


Men: There will be 4 quarters of 10 minutes each. 2 time outs allowed per quarter.
Women: There will be 4 quarters of 8 minutes each. 2 time outs allowed per
quarter.
1. 5 personnel foul per player; every quarter after committing 5 fouls by team
will attract penalty shoots.
2. All the international rules of Travelling, carrying, Double dribble, Backcourt
violation rules apply.

ATHLETICS (MEN & WOMEN)


Events: 100m & 400m races, Shot-put and Long jump.
1. Maximum of two players from a college can participate in a particular event.
2. A player can participate in all the events.
3. If number of participants are more than 6(six), then there will be heat races
for 100m and 400m races.
4. Events can be cancelled if numbers of participants are less than five.
5. International athletics rules would be followed, however decisions of
judge/referee shall be considered final.

VOLLEYBALL (MEN & WOMEN)

Team consists of six players.


Maximum of six substitutes allowed.
International rules for substitutions will be followed.
Three sets of 25, 25, 15 points respectively will be played for every matches.
Final match will be of five sets 25, 25, 25, 25, 15 points respectively.
Maximum two time outs per team per sets are allowed. Total five time outs
per match.
7. General rules for faults are:
Catching and throwing the ball.
Two consecutive contacts with the ball made by the same player.
Four consecutive contacts with the ball made by the same team.
Touching the net during play.
If the foot crosses over the service line while serving.
8. The ball is in when it touches the floor of the playing court including the
boundary lines and the attackers team gets a point.
9. Players can play from any position during the play. Rules of rotation will not
be followed.
10.Service may be done underhand or overhand.
11.Standard size volleyball, ground and net height.
12.International volleyball rules would be followed, however decisions of the
referee shall be considered final.

FUTSAL (MEN)

Half Time of 10 minutes and 12 minutes for Semis and Finals.


Half Time breaks of 5 minutes.
Team Size of 5 a side.
Substitution will be rolling with no limits on the number of substitutions.
Kick-in when the ball goes out of play and players are not allowed to hit the
ball directly into the goal.
No offside.
Rough tackles are not allowed and will result in booking. If a player gets 2
yellow or a direct red card it will result in sending-off.
The game should resume in 5 seconds in case of kick-in, corner, goal kick or
free-kick.
Referees decision will be final; any objection against the decision can result
in booking.

CHESS (MEN & WOMEN)


1. Each team will consist of 5 players and 1 substitute player.
2. Each team will have to submit the seeding of all its players before the start of
the tournament which will be followed throughout the tournament.
3. Substitute player will be seeded 6th and can only enter at the 5th board.
4. Each match will be of maximum 1hr duration with each player getting
30mins on the clock.
5. Each team will give its board order (i.e. which player will play at what board
number) at the start of the tournament. This Board order will remain
unchanged during the whole tournament.
6. The final ranking would be based on the team points. Total game points
would be used to as the first tie -breaker. Head-to-head record will be used as
the second tie-breaker. In case, the teams are still tied after this, they will
have to play a tie-breaker blitz round with 10mins on the clock.
7. Minor rules related to gameplay and code of conduct will be conveyed to
participating teams at the tournament day.
8. Decision of IIM Kashipur Sports-Comm. will be final and binding on
participants for all matters pertaining to chess Tournament.

CRICKET (MEN ONLY)

All rounds will be knock-out rounds.


Matches will be played in daylight with a red leather season ball on mats.
12 overs for each side.
Fielding restrictions: 4 overs (Power-Play) per side for 12 overs match.
1 hour per inning for 12 overs match with 10 minutes break between the two
innings.
6. The squad of playing eleven must be named before the toss for every game.
7. Rest of the rules will be as per T20 ICC Cricket rules with neutral umpires.

CARROM (MEN & WOMEN)


1. Minimum number of players in a team is 3 and maximum is 5 (For each of
the Women & Men team).
2. There will be 3 ties in a match.
3. The sequence of the ties will be 2 singles and 1 doubles match
4. Each tie will be a best of 3 boards in the initial stages and will change for the
finals.
5. 5 points for the queen and 1 point each for black & white carom men.
6. Back shots (thumbing) allowed.
7. Each player can play a maximum of 2 matches: 1 singles & 1 doubles.
8. Players can bring their own strikers.
9. All players will play using the same powder provided by Sports Committee,
IIM Kashipur.
10.Foul (if valid) will be given only if the opponent claims it.
11.Further in case of an issue or dispute officials decision would be final.
