1. John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(The Word is God, not the Bible! Jesus Christ is the Word of God. The same was in the beginning with
God. All things were made by him; and there was nothing made without him. John 1:2-3 )
Look how ridiculous this wonderful verse becomes, substituting the word Bible for the word Word.
In the beginning was the Word Bible, and the Word Bible was with God, and the Word Bible
was God.
The word is a Spirit, Jesus Christ, whose name is the word of God; it is not a scripture.
For most of Christendom, their faith is in what the Bible says, which is Bible-faith, an outward faith
That is not the faith that the Apostles preached; they preached an inward faith by revelation that is
authored by Jesus Christ. The object of both faiths are the same, but the differences are crucial to
realize the promises of God. The two faiths are:
to concur with history in the Bible that Jesus was the son of God, born of a virgin, rose from the
dead, ascended into heaven, etc.; that is outward Bible-faith,
to hear the Word of God, which word is in your heart to obey this is the word of faith that the
Apostles preached. Hearing and obeying Jesus speak to you from within your heart is operational
faith, inward faith, faith given to you by Jesus himself. With persistent obedience to the
commands heard from God within your heart, this faith within justifies; purifies, redeems, makes
righteous, sanctifies, and saves; to give you peace, joy, and righteousness in union and fellowship
with Christ and the Father this is to see and listen to your beloved, living a holy life that pleases
Him.
In this verse the original Greek (click to see) for "word" in "word of God" is logov <3056> (from logos)
and logos or logov means: of speech, a word uttered by a living voice, what someone has said.
And the word logos appears throughout the bible; often translated as the word but always referring to
the spoken words of the Holy Spirit or the spoken words of the Spirit of Jesus. You can click to see the
Greek for each verse on this page to verify what Greek word was written, and you can also click on the
Greek word itself to see the word's definition.
Every reference to "the word" or "the word of God" or "the Word of the Lord" in the
New Testament is either logos or rhema, both of which mean "words spoken by a
living voice."
There is not a single verse in the Bible that refers to "the word written" or "the word cannot

be broken " or "the word was opened," or "search the word" or "as the word has said" or "read the
word" or "understanding the word" or "holy word" or "according to the word " or "word shows" or
"what does the word say" or "prophecy of the word" or "knowing the word" because all such
references refer to "scriptures," (click to see).
2. Heb 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that
things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all their host by the breath of
his mouth. Psalms 33:6. Notice! The word of the Lord is a "his" the word is a living being, not a
book, not a writing, not the Bible, not a scripture.
The above two verses prove that the word of God or the word of the Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ, who
created all things in heaven and earth, and whose name is "the word of God."
As George Fox said, "To think the Bible framed the worlds is ridiculous." The word is the
Spirit , not a scripture.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is rhmati or rhema (from rhema) <4487>: 1) that which
is or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word; 1a) any sound produced by the voice and
having definite meaning; 1b) speech, discourse; 1b1) what one has said.
The word rhema appears throughout the Bible, often translated as the word, but always referring to
the spoken words of the Holy Spirit or the spoken words of the Spirit of Jesus. For every verse on this
page, you can click to see the Greek Greek word was written in the Greek text to verify the word, and
you can also click on the Greek word itself to see the word's definition.
Every reference to "the word" or "the word of God" or "the Word of the Lord" in the
New Testament is either logos or rhema, both of which mean "words spoken by a
living voice."
The Old Testament translators extensively used "word of the Lord " for the word. The New Testament
was translated from Greek to English as "the word of God," but they mean the same thing. Both refer to
the Lord Jesus Christ, who created all things in heaven and earth, and whose name is "the word of
God."
3. 1 Peter 1:23,25
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, by the word of God that lives
and lasts forever.
The Bible does not live and last forever, but Christ, the Word of God, does
live and last forever.
You cannot be born again by scripture, reading or hearing it read; but you can be born again
by the Spirit, as you respond to hearing and obeying the Spirit, or the word of God within
your heart.
The word is the Spirit of Jesus, not a scripture.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logou (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a)
a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word [the word in your heart]
by which the gospel is preached to you.
The Bible does not endure forever, but Christ, the Word of God, does endure
forever.

Word of God

The gospel is not preached to you by a book of scriptures. The gospel was preached to
Abraham by the Lord, and Abraham was before any scripture had been written. The Spirit
of Christ, the Word of God, lives, lasts, and endures forever. The gospel was preached (past
tense) in every creature under the heaven. Col 1:23. Christ preaches the gospel to every man,
as the Spirit, the Word of God, in a man's heart speaks to him.
The word is the Spirit of Jesus, not a scripture.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is rhma (from rhema) <4487>: 1) that which is
or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word; 1a) any sound produced by the
voice and having definite meaning; 1b) speech, discourse; 1b1) what one has said
4. John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt in us; and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
One to come from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Christ, not the Bible, was made into flesh; the word is clearly not the Bible. The Bible
cannot be made flesh, but Jesus was made flesh to come to the earth as a man and is made flesh again
when He is fully formed and resurrected in you.
The word is the Spirit, not a scripture, not a book, not the Bible.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logov (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a) a word,
uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.
5. 1 Kings 12:22
But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying :
The Word of God came, "saying." The Word of God talks. Scriptures do not speak, so the Bible
cannot be the word of God.
The Word of God "came" to Shemaiah. Scriptures do not walk, fly or travel.
But the Spirit of Jesus, whose name is the word of God, both travels and speaks.
Click to see the 125 verses that state: the word of the Lord and word of God came,
speaking.
This is proof positive that the Word of God or the Word of the Lord is the Spirit of God, the Spirit of
Jesus.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logov (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a) a word,
uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.
6. John 5:37-40
You have neither heard the Father's voice at any time or seen his form.
And you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they
which testify of Me.
But you are not willing to come to me that you may have life.
Jesus has just told us that reading the Bible does not lead to eternal life because that is not
coming to Him. From the Word of the Lord within: "Studying the Bible is a work of flesh." It is the
Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and
they are life-giving. John 6:63. He is telling the scripture scholars, (the only ones who had scriptures
at that time), that they could not obtain eternal life searching the scriptures; they studied the
scriptures, but they would not come to Him to obtain eternal life, (which only comes by "coming to
Him," the one thing needed: to sit in humble silence to wait on God, listening for His spoken
words andwatching for His revelations, and then obeying whatever they hear and see.

Word of God

Notice! Jesus also makes a clear distinction between the word of God, and the Scriptures
From the Word of the Lord within: "Why would He contrast them if He didn't want to distinguish
them."
The Greek for word in (click to see) verse 38 is logon (from logos) <3056>: which means 1)
of speech; 1a) a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what
someone has said.
Just to be clear, the Greek for scripture in verse 39 is grafav (from graphe) <1124>, which
means 1) a writing, thing written; 2) the Scripture, used to denote either the book itself, or
its contents; 3) a certain portion or section of the Holy Scripture.
There are clear differences in the Greek words for both, which shows no possibility of
misinterpretation.
Jesus speaks of His word abiding in you.
Paul said: "The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart [so you may obey it]; that is,
the word of faith, which we preach. " Rom 10:8. Where is the word again?
It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it to us, that we
may hear it, and do it?'
Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us,
that we may hear it, and do it?' But the word is very near to you, in your mouth, and in your heart, so
that you may obey it. Deu 30:11-14.
What good did studying the scriptures do for the Jews? They had the scriptures, but they grossly
misunderstood them because they were not listening to the word of God in their hearts to teach them;
instead they were searching the scriptures. So in colossal error they crucified the Holy One of Israel,
just as the Christians of England and America killed, imprisoned, and seized the property of the early
Quakers; the Christians read the scriptures too, but they too were not listening to God, and so they
hunted and killed many early Quakers that had the Spirit of Christ risen in them to govern
their words and deeds.
You can read the Bible until you have it totally memorized, but the word, (which is a living voice), will
not be abiding in you.
Jesus has just told us the criteria of a person who knows God: they must have heard his voice and seen
his form. The Father and Jesus are known only by revelation that you see Jesus show you and you hear
Jesus speak to you. You must hear his voice and obey what he commands you, doing his will, not yours
this results in cleansing of your heart from sin and receiving the life of God in sin's place; then after you
are cleansed to become pure, you see God. Only the pure will live in the kingdom of God; the impure
will have no part in the kingdom of God or Christ.
To hear and see Jesus, you must obey his instruction: "come to me." You must sit in humble silence
wait for Him to speak to you. Waiting on God is the key to spiritual progress. God is not found in sect
programs or by reading about Him. As George Fox said:
"The Father is in you all, Christ is in you, and the Kingdom of Heaven is in you; there, in your
hearts, is where you will find them all. Know him there searching your hearts, and find him
there trying your minds and hearts; incline your ears, and give ear to him there, who will
render to everyone of you according to your words and works whether they are good or evil."
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me [they obey]. John 10:27
Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice. John 18:37
7. Revelation 19:12-16
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no
man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Word of God

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and
clean.
And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule
them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF
LORDS.
So Jesus and his Spirit is the Word of God, not the Bible!
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logov (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a) a word,
uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.
8. Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates
even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logov (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a) a word,
uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.
The Bible is not living and active, but the words that I [Jesus] speak to you are spirit, and
they are life-giving. John 6:63
So the Word of God is the Living Word, Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Voice of the Lord, who is living
and active.
Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates dividing soul and spirit, joints
and marrow;
A book is not a two-edged sword, but Jesus had in his right hand seven stars; and out of his mouth
went a sharp two-edged sword; and his countenance was as the sun shines in his strength, Rev 1:16;
out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: Rev 19:15
A book, or words read from a book, cannot divide soul and spirit, but Christ, the Living Word of God
does.
Christ, the Word of God, judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Psa 90:8, Prov 20:27 , Luke 2:35, 1
Cor 4:5, Psa 26:2

The Bible cannot judge your heart; but Christ, the Word of God, can and does!
I am He who searches the minds and hearts. Jer 17 :10, Rom 8:27 , 1 Chron 28:9, Rev 2:23
The Bible is not the Word of God. It is not living or active.
It cannot judge your heart, penetrate you, or change you; but the Spirit of Christ, the Word of
God, can and does!
9. Ephesians 6:17
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is rhma (from rhema) <4487>: 1) that which is or has
been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word; 1a) any sound produced by the voice and having
definite meaning; 1b) speech, discourse; 1b1) what one has said.
And a sword will pierce through your own soul also--that the secret thoughts and purposes of many
hearts may be brought out and disclosed. Luke 2:35. Repent; or else I will come to you quickly, and will
fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Rev 2:16. And out of his mouth goes a sharp
sword, that with it he should smite the nations: Rev 19:15 .
So, the sword of the spirit is not the Bible; it is the spoken words from the mouth by the Spirit of
Christ, the Word of God.
10. John 10:35
So he called them gods, men to whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
The word of God "came." Scriptures do not travel, but the Word of God comes to a man's heart.

Word of God

Here is another verse where Jesus makes a clear distinction between the word of God and scripture
proving that scripture references to the word are not references to the Bible or
scripture.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logov (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a)
a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.
Just to be clear, the Greek for scripture in this verse is grafh (from graphe) <1124>, which
means 1) a writing, thing written; 2) the Scripture, used to denote either the book itself, or
its contents; 3) a certain portion or section of the Holy Scripture.
There are clear differences in the Greek words for both, which shows no possibility of
misinterpretation.
From the Word of the Lord within:
"Why would He contrast them if He didn't want to distinguish them.
Calling the Bible 'the word' is the most evil lie of Christendom.
Woe be to them, for they have coupled an external form between the love of God to
man."
Why is calling the Bible "the word" the most evil lie in Christendom?because then people read
"Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and obey, Luke 11:28;" thinking it means to read the Bible
instead of quietly listening for God to speak His words to them. Christendom has put a book between
God and man, separating man from God's love, creating a form of godliness with no power: a powerless
substitution for quietly listening for Him to speak to each of us mind-to-mind with spoken words
tailored to our exact understanding, and which impart the life of God, Christ, to us. As the Word of the
Lord within further said: "Woe be to them for they have coupled an external form between God and
man."
11. Daniel 9:2
in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of
the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.
Here is another verse from the Old Testament that makes a clear distinction between
the word and scripture, proving that scripture references to the word are not
references to the Bible or scripture.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logov (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a) a word,

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with all readiness of

He who is of God, hears God's words.
This doesn't say he hears someone reading scriptures; this says he hears the words of God, spoken by

16. John 8:37
I know that you are Abraham's descendants; but you seek to kill me, because my word [teachings

The Jews heard the Scriptures read to them every Sabbath, but because the Jews had not been

Each time you listen, hear, and obey, the Lord writes his words in the flesh of your heart; which is the
engrafted word, which is able to save your soul. James 1:21 . The more you hear, the more the word
abides in you; the more it abides in you, the more it controls you - the more you are doing his will, not
yours. The more you hear and see revealed in your heart by the Word in your heart, the more you
understand the things of God.

My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me [they obey]. John 10:27
Everyone of the truth hears my voice. John 18:37

Jesus is the bread of life: the life of God. His words that you hear Him speak to you impart the life of
God. To acquire more of Jesus, you must sit in humble silence, wait on Him, listen, hear his words that
he speaks to you, and then obey what He commands. His words that He speaks to us impart the life of
God to us as they are engrafted into our hearts; and since Jesus is the life of God, His spoken words that
we hear form Jesus within us, until He is fully formed and then resurrected in us to be our true Lord,
ruling our heart.
18. John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, "He who hears my word, and believes in [depends on, trusts, obeys] him who
sent me, has eternal life, and shall not come into condemnation; but has passed [past tense] over from
death to life."

19. John 8:31
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, "If you continue in my word [teachings and

To continue in His word is to obey the commands you hear Him speak to you. To obey Him is to deny
your will and follow His will; that is the inward cross of self-denial. When you obediently follow His
teachings to you, then you are a disciple, learning how to deny ungodliness and lusts and how to live
soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.

Word of God

Many sects in Christendom with Bible-faith think the words I have spoken of this verse, by which man
is judged, are words recorded in the Bible. Think about it: how unfair that would be to all those men
and women in the world who don't have a Bible, or who can't read, etc.? Of course the Bible's words
will not be our judge; God is fair and just beyond any man, and He judges all men by the same
standard the words and pleadings He has anonymously spoken to every man for the Spirit of God
has been given to every man so that he might believe and be saved.
The first instance of words in this verse is rhmata (from rhema) <4487>: 1) that which is or has been

Word of God

Jesus was not reading from scrolls to the people by the lake; He spoke only as the Father told Him to

Come to me not to sect services, not to prayer meetings, not to altar calls, and not Bible study;
Jesus even said that studying the scriptures is not coming to Him. John 5:39-40 . We must come directly
to him, by sitting in humble silence as we wait on Him, listening for his voiced commands and
teachings. To believe in Jesus is to believe what you hear him speak to you and then to obey it.
27. Luke 8:11...14-15
The seed is the Word of God.
And that [seed] which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are
choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word,
keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logov (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a) a word,
uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.
To bring forth fruit to perfection does not come from Bible study. Millions study the Bible every day
and bring forth no fruit. But if you listen to the Spirit of God from within your heart and obey His
commands to you, you will eventually produce the fruit of the Spirit: love, peace, joy, gentleness,
kindness, patience, faith, humility; which comes to those whose obedience to the commands heard
spoken to them crucify their sinful nature's passions and pleasures.
When you produce the fruit of the Spirit, you prove yourself to be a true follower of Christ, and you
bring honor and glory to the Father, John 15:8 which is a one-time opportunity.
28. Luke 8:13
Those on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but they have no root.
And although they believe for awhile, in time of testing [with affliction and persecution] they fall away.
There is little-to-no joy when you hear someone read the Bible; but when you hear the Lord
speak to you, you have great joy!

Word of God

This is also one of the critical verses to be understood. Hearing someone read words from the Bible
does not make you a brother or relative of Jesus, but if you persistently and patiently go to Him, by
sitting and waiting for Him in humble silence, listening for His words, and watching for His
revelations, you will eventually become pure and be made a son of God, (a brother to and co-heir with
Jesus), to be led and guided by Him in all your thoughts, words, and deeds.

The sower sows the word.
Some are the people along the path where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan comes
immediately, and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Others are the ones like the seed sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word,
immediately receive it with gladness,
But have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time; afterward, when affliction or persecution
rises for the word's sake, they are immediately offended.
Others are like the seed sown among thorns, who hear the word,
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts for other things enter in and
choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
And there are those who are like seed sown on good ground, who hear the word and receive it, and
bring forth fruit, some thirty fold, some sixty, and some a hundred times as much.
Clearly, to hear the word is to hear the word within your heart speak to you, which is received with
great joy.

From the Word of the Lord within:

"Studying the Bible is a work of the flesh.

Studying the Bible is like studying the Law.
Ten words from Him are better than ten copied letters."
Why are ten words from Him, (that you hear Him speak to you), better that reading ten of the New
Testament letters? Because His words that you hear Him speak to you impart the life of God to your heart,
John 6:63; but reading ten letters is just a work of the flesh, which profits nothing; in fact most people read
the letters of the New Testament and think they are addressed to them, when in fact most were addressed to
very advanced believers who had attained the first stage of perfection. Reading the Bible is valuable for
understanding what is sin and for maintaining your hope in the true gospel; however, to be of value, your
hope must be in the true gospel and the benefit of bearing the cross to realize those promises.

Spirit of God that supplied their words before they spoke. The apostles preached the Word of Faith that
was in their heart and mouth, put there by God to be heard and obeyed.
20. Acts 13:15
And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them,
saying, "You men and brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak."
After reading scripture, the Jewish rulers then asked the Christians if they had a word of exhortation to
speak, which again is a clear distinction between scriptures and the word.

Scriptures cannot grow in power. But the word of the Lord, who is the Spirit of Jesus and the power of

within their heart; and He can command powerful miracles to be performed, by which a mature
believer then speaks the words he is commanded to speak that initiate the miracles performed by the

But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, [there to be
obeyed]," that is, the word of faith we preach.
41. Rom 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Remember, Paul tells us in Rom 10:8, the word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart, that
is, the word of faith, which we preach, which referred to Deuteronomy:
If you will listen to and heed the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments
and his statutes which are written in this book of the law,
and if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul.
For this command which I command you this day is not hidden from you, nor is it far off.
It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it to us,
that we may hear it, and do it?'
Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring
it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?'
But the word is very near to you, in your mouth, and in your heart, so that you
may obey it. Deu 30:10-14
So faith is hearing the word of Christ from within your heart, and recognizing it as the Spirit of God
speaking to you, or Christ speaking to you; and believing it enough to obey. Thus to believe is: to
believe, [trust, depend on, obey] on the word, Christ, heard in your heart. Blessed are those who hear
the word of God and keep [practice, obey] it. Christendom would have you believe that hearing
someone read the words of the Bible is hearing the word of God, and if you believe them, you are a
"believer." But this only results in belief in a book and faith in the words in a book. Christianity
erroneously teaches that faith comes by belief in the message of the Bible; if so, then how did Enoch,
Noah, Job, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, etc., have faith when scriptures were yet to be
written? Yet Paul has just told us that faith comes from hearing the word, which word is in our hearts;
so to have real faith, you must hear Christ from within your heart and believe whom you hear, to be the
Son of God; and believe enough to completely obey him. If they tell you that "faith comes by hearing
Bible verses (their word of God)," haven't they just cut Christ out of being the author and the
finisher of your faith, by making the Bible their source of faith instead of the Living, speaking
voice from heaven, Christ the Living God? If people insist that Bible verses are the "word of God,"
haven't they replaced Christ with the Bible making the Bible their rule, their judge, their source of
discernment, their authority haven't they made the Bible their God? Think about it, even though it is

a sad conclusion to make.

By hearing Him speak to you, not a book about Jesus, but Jesus himself is the source and author of
your faith: true faith, of which Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, Heb 12:2 . By obedience to
the word, Jesus, you have faith: For Jesus became the Author and Source of eternal salvation to all
those who give heed and obey Him. Heb 5:9. To believe is to obey. Obedience leads to salvation.
Obedience leads to righteousness.

Christendom teaches that the "word of truth" is the Bible, but obviously it is words spoken to you from
the Spirit of God.
You are to hear the good news of you salvation to come, spoken from the mouth of God, which you hear

This is one of the critical verses to be understood. Hearing someone read words from the Bible does not
result in any cleansing whatsoever. But the words that Christ speaks to you do result in your cleansing.
Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken to you. John 15:3, and Peter said to him, "You

. I, Jesus.. am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star. Rev 22:16. He who
overcomes, ..I will give him the morning star. Rev 2:26-28.
You can read the Bible continuously, and you will never see the Morning Star arise in your hearts; but if
you daily listen for the living word, hear, and obey the day breaks through and the Morning Star
[light] arises in your hearts. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in
our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Cor 4:6.
Christ is revealed in your heart; you see, and have knowledge of, the glory of God. As the lightning
comes out of the east, and shines to the west; so also will the coming of the Son of man be. Mat 24:27
Until this occurs, you must obey the voice of the Lord. Blessed rather are those who hear the word of
God and obey it! Luke 11:28. From the Word of the Lord within: "Light comes from faith in the voice
My mother and brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice. Luke 8:21.
Then there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, My Chosen One, My Beloved; listen
to, believe, and obey Him! Luke 9:35.
So you must come to Jesus, silently listen, hear him speak to you, and then obey what he commands
you to do. Come, listen, hear, obey.
Clearly the Bible does not speak, but the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus, does speak the word of faith
from within your heart.

Word of God

But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was
formed.
(The Bible did not create the heavens and earth, but the Spirit of Christ, the Word of God did create it
all.)

77. 1 John 2:5
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in
Him. 1 John 2:5 .
You can memorize the entire Bible, but the love of God will not be perfected in you. But if you keep and
obey all the commands you hear the Lord speak to you, then the love of God will be perfected in you.
Whoever keeps his word (is obedient to commands, practices his teachings), the love of God is
perfected in him. If there is one word that sums up the Bible, it is obedience. True faith leads to
obedience. Obedience leads to the restoration of man to the image of God, and then to union with
Christ and God. You are in Christ if the love of God has been perfected in you. If not, you can say you
are in Christ, but it is a lie.

George Fox frequently wrote that when someone preaches from their carnal mind quoting the Bible,
instead of preaching words that they hear from the Spirit of God telling them what to say; then those
men are stealing the words of the saints. Fox also wrote that spiritual progress of ministers in his era
was less than that of Balaam's ass because the ass spoke the Word of the Lord, but the ministers
could not even hear the Lord's voice, much less speak the Word of the Lord; they could only
quote the Bible; exactly like the ministers today.

Word of the Lord References
There are hundreds of "word of the Lord" verses in the Old Testament too many to be
read.
However, there are also many self-evident references with separate groupings below that can be
clicked to see:

references to the word of the Lord and word of God "came, speaking."
(self-evident because scriptures do not travel or speak, but the Spirit of Christ, whose name is the Word
of God, does come and speak to you from within your heart. Because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,
today, and forever, Heb 13:8, He still speaks today!)

references to the Lord saying my word.

(self-evident based on the context of what the Lord is saying when He refers to my word: his spoken
words, not scripture.)

references to the word from the mouth of God, not in a book, and not reading from a
book.

references to God putting "His word" in a man's mouth, not having a man read from
a book, but rather speaking words that He puts in a man's mouth. God has defined "his word" in these
verses.

Below are a few of the Old Testament references to the Word of the Lord
1. Psalms 33:6
The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all their host by the breath
his mouth.
Notice! This verse shows that the word of the Lord is a "his," the Spirit: not a book, not a writing, not

Dear Reader. Consider that "the word of the Lord" and "the word of God" are the same. Look at the
below NT verse:
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of
God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Heb 11:3.
The Old Testament texts for "word" are rarely translated as the "word of God;" instead the translators
extensively used "word of the Lord." The New Testament was translated from Greek to English as "the
word of God," but they mean the same thing. Both refer to the Lord Jesus Christ, who created all things
in heaven and earth, and whose name is "the word of God."
2. Psalms 33:4
For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in faithfulness.
Once again, the word of the Lord is a "his" the Spirit: the Lord Jesus Christ, who created all things in
heaven and earth, and whose name is "the word of God."

Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us,
