Abstract
One of the alternative solutions for security problems and discomfort to structural vibration
in high-rise buildings is the use of the concept of passive control of vibration, without using
external power, by which can significantly reduce the amount of vibration in structures.
This alternative is presented as one of the most effective and low cost to improve the
safety of existing structures. Within the passive mass dampers, there are two main
systems:
the
tuned
mass
dampers
(AMS)
and
tuned
liquid
damper
(ALS).
The main objective of this work is to determine the efficiency of tuned mass dampers in
reducing the torsional effects in asymmetric buildings subjected to seismic actions.
First we analyze the dynamic behavior of systems passive vibration control and a critical
analysis and comparison of the main models of vibration control systems existing liabilities.
Then we develop a structure-AMS model coupled through the reformulation of the
boundary conditions and the associated algebraic system. As model structure using a
general model developed beams and the equations of motion of the AMS and the coupling
equations with the structure. Finally, a numerical study is performed to evaluate the
efficiency of such systems in reducing flexural and torsional coupled vibrations. The same

In addition, preliminary studies the optimal placement of AMS within the building plan.

Pequeas deformaciones y pequeos giros.
Si aplicamos fuerzas horizontales a las diferentes estructuras,
entonces estas reaccionarn mediante vibraciones y
amortiguaciones
