INTRODUCTION
INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION
TECHNOLOGY FOR THE MUSLIMS
WORLD (ICT4M) 2012
Theme : "ICT Economic Advancement for Global
Peace"
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is
a common entity that is important and critical in our
day to day activity and task. The use of ICT can improve effectiveness and productivity at work place
and home. However, it must be seen as a strength
which complements our role and responsibilities as
leaders, workers and students of Islam. Information is
needed to effectively perform Dawah and learning,
and its practical implementation. Thus, ICT and its
infrastructure should be considered as a factor in the
equation of our duties in the Mosques, schools and
organizations. The main Islamic principles should be
taken as guidelines for laying the foundation of Islamic
code of practices in ICT.
The Quran and Sunnah has always been our guidelines for laying the foundation of Islamic code of
practice in ICT. Building on the success of the three
ICT4M conferences in 2006, 2008 and 2010, We
are proud to jointly organize the 4th ICT4M in Fes,
Morocco on 12-14 November, 2012.
THEME:
The theme of this year ICT4M is "ICT
Economic Advancement for Global Peace"
with the aim to bring together practitioners,
academics, community leaders, local government
officials, policy-makers, industrialist and other
professionals from diverse disciplines and regions around the world to address ICT solutions for the global concerns set by UN Millennium Development Goals (Ending Poverty and
Hunger, Universal Education, Gender Equality,
Child Health, Maternal Health, Combat HIV/
AIDS, Environmental Sustainability, and Global
Partnership) and to build bridges of tolerance
and respect across borders.
Integrate the efforts of the groups and individuals to explore the areas of research in ICT related to Islam and disseminating existing research
and applications to Muslim communities.
