isassignedfromthesoftwareside.Fromthenetworkpointofviewbasically
theipaddressisnecessarywhenyouarejumpingfromonenetworktothe
otherbecausewithonlymacidyoucannotcrossroutersandgateways.
Inpracticalterms,forautomationguysfortheipaddresswillmeanadditional
communicationexchangeasthereisoneadditionalsignalexchangebefore
datapacketsstartsflowing.itmeansdatatransfertimewillbeminimally(a
verytinybit...)longer.
Iwouldadvisenottochangemacidsbecauseyouhaveaduplicatemacidin
anetworkyouwouldneverdetecttheproblemunlessyoureallycheckthe
addresses.Foripaddressyougetaipconflictproblem.Butinmaccase
thereisnotwarningorerrorandsoonlywhenyouhaveamesswiththe
communicationyourealiseiswrongandthelastthingyouwouldlookforis
macids.Forthisreasonmanufacturersstampthemacidsonteh
