Vilu Reef Beach & Spa Resort is sprawled across the entire expanse of Meedhuffushi
Island in South Nilandhe Atoll, 145km south of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. The
island is reached by a 35 minute picturesque journey by seaplane.
We are currently looking for passionate, enthusiastic, energetic and qualified young
individuals to fill the following positions.
JOB VACANCIES
Laundry Supervisor
General Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the
overall operation of the Laundry section according to Resort regulations in order to assure that
the Laundry section is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner and that an adequate
supply of laundry/linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
Reporting line: Reports to Executive Housekeeper
Duties and Responsibilities:
1- Assists in standardizing the method in which laundry tasks will be performed.
2- Makes recommendations to the Executive Housekeeper.
3- Responsible for proper running of equipment and proper amounts of chemicals.
4- Ensures that established infection control and universal precaution practices are followed in
the Laundry Department as some tasks may involve exposure to harmful substances, bacterias
and chemicals.
5- Assigns schedules and duties to laundry staff.
6- Attends and participates in in-service education classes, on-the-job training programs, etc.
7- Sets up par level of linens for the resort needs and assures proper amounts are ready for
operational outlets.
8- Recommends equipment, linen and chemical purchasing needs to Department Head in budget
preparation.
9- Schedules preventative maintenance of laundry equipment.
10- Assists in the recruitment and selection of laundry staff and assists in determining staffing
requirements necessary to meet the Laundry sections needs and assures that sufficient laundry
personnel are on duty 11- each day.
11- Trains, monitors and evaluates all laundry staff.
12- Recommends discipline and implements appropriate procedures with approval of Department
Head.
13- Makes rounds and inspections to assure that laundry staff are performing required duties,
appropriate laundry procedures are being rendered, and quality control measures are continually
maintained.
14- Serves on various committees of the resort such as Health & Safety, Fire Safety and related
other committees.
15- Performs other duties as assigned by the management.
