PLASCON: THE INTERSECTION

BRIEF: We had to nd a neglected public space and uplij it by using an innovaGve
concept and colour. The plascon colour chart of 2014 had to be our guide so we had to
choose a scheme and follow it through. This project was one of the top 15 nalists.
CLIENT: PLASCON
CONCEPT: As you enter Stellenbosch , there is a taxi rank on your right, I chose that
intersecGon and developed a space where people of the community can grow. The idea
of people planGng fresh goods in provided planters appealed to me, thus I designed a
community kitchen, where they can bring their planters and share the harvest, learn to
cook with it and sell goods at the place. This is a concept that can be rolled out to all taxi
ranks, and as a result, uplij the community.

PG BISON : JAG ART GALLERY REDESIGN

BRIEF: To Redesign the Johannesburg art Gallery and create awareness using a clever concept.
CLIENT: PG Bison CompeGGon
CONCEPT: I created a concept around the capillary system of the human heart, looking at its structure,
funcGonality and purpose and basing my design on that. It lead me to design the gallery with two wings, each
with its own funcGon. This also inspired a brand design- From Art to Heart. This creates awareness by enabling
the gallery to funcGon as a brand and as a plakorm for young arGsts and crajsmen and aims to revive the creaGve
pulse of the city of JHB.

TOP 10 NATIONAL FINALIST

CAESARSTONE: RECHARGE STATION 2020

BRIEF: To design a service staGon with a variety of funcGons like a rejuvenate, refresh, recharge and replenish. The
brief was based around the mobile of the future which will be electric and rechargeable and to think of natural
soluGons.
CLIENT: Caesarstone CompeGGon. For the customer who wants to spend Gme recharging , while charging their
mobile device.
CONCEPT: A contextual analysis was done on milnerton when we were told to select a geographic locaGon. I found
that there is fault line running through Blouberg beach and decided to harness energy from the earth core by
designing a tectonic system that harnesses energy through quartz. Thus the building is designed and inspired by
quartz crystals and quartz materials and hues.
