At one point al-Ghazzali long journey.

In his trip he brought along all the

reading books. It is said in the middle of the road came suddenly a bunch of
people robbed the congenital al-Ghazzali, including books. And he has not read the
entire book. That he had read was not entirely memorized.

The incident was really aware of al-Ghazzali, that science is in the chest and not
in the text (al-'Ilm s-fi-fi-la şudur-sutur s). Since the incident of al-Ghazzali
was determined to always remember what he had read. What is interesting is not an
event robberies, but al-Ghazzali conclusions about the location of science. Really
knowing and knowledge is in the chest? What is the difference between the science
of Ma'rifah.

Talk science is talking object (reality or being) and the broad area of knowledge
is an object of reality or existence. Thus the reality of Ghazzali and the clergy
are empirical and non-empirical. Empirical reality was divided at least into
three: individual reality, the reality of the conversation, and the reality of the
mind. The first is a form of riels and empirical, the second is a form of verbal
discussions and indicative, and the third is a form of cognitive thought and
formal. Above of all the above is the reality of the Absolute Reality or the
Absolute Being.

Then find out how the process? Al-Ghazzali to empirical reality to start from the
study of things that can be specifically understood and communicated with
language. When the individual being understood by our mind, the form (surah) from
the printed individual reality in the eye, and in our imagination, and then into
shape in our minds. When the form of reality or that individual being present in
mind, he became a science, because the known object associated with the
representation in mind, just as our image reflected in the glass.

So knowing the process requires three things: the object of knowledge, the
recipient and the process involving sensory cognition. When the empirical reality
or being in mind he still called reality. Similarly, faith is not empirical in the
chest that can be called reality, too. If the empirical reality - through the
process - can be reflected in the mind, the Absolute Reality or Absolute Being,
God can also be reflected in human beings.

With only an empirical way humans have been able to find himself, the universe and
the Lord. The realization of God can be known indukif of creation. Empirical
studies about God's creation is that aspects are interconnected and form a unity.
At the highest station people will come to the view that reality and truth is only
one and not plural. This means that in his mind there is only one reality or form,
that is Absolute Being, Actor (fa'il) of all the plural form of the relative.

Even if not with an empirical way God can be known with the eyes of the heart.
Because in humans there instinct has (nature) knowing god (ma'rifatullah).
Instinct was created by God before man was born through the early syahadah
(mithaq). This is the provision of human Syahadah get Ma'rifah. Nietzsche accused
this nature of mind and imagination. And fantasy, he says, must be killed for
people to think scientifically. God is dead means that nature has died. It is this
knowledge of al-Ghazzali did not have a layman, including Nietzsche. Knowledge of
God by way of non-empirical achieved with eyes full of love hearts. In Ihya he
states: "... the best method to obtain the truth and love of God and is the
deductive method of Ma'rifah of God to the knowledge of reality. But this is a
complicated method and is not understood laymen "(Ihya 'thing. 2619, vol. IV).

So was the 'ilm and Ma'rifah is the same, namely in the heart, in the chest. Means
a place of remembrance activities, he thought, 'ilm, faith, charity, love and
morality are the same. If all activities are in balance so that someone came into
yaqin level. Building trilogy of faith, science is the paradigm of charity a
strong Islamic scholarship. Therefore, science in the Islamic charities and
charitable dimension dimension of science, both based on faith. So al-Ghazzali
firm "science without charity is a crazy and charity without science is arrogant".
Thus, Muslims who said "his heart in his brain Mecca in Germany or in New York",
means faith without knowledge, his science without faith. Remembrance heart but
his mind - may be - secular-liberal. And Allaah knows best.
