Maybe there are some more junctions and roads that I have worked on, but I believe
that this shows enough of the workload.
Also, ongoing project for the ONE is the Graded Road Improvement Project :
The process of the work is as follows:

PDO (ONE, UWD etc. ) have done the initial survey and identified 485km of roads that they deem as
hazardous, and that need improvement
Final outcome of the project will be asphalting of the suggested grades roads, but in order to asphalt all of
the roads mentioned PDO would need a 5-10 years or even more,
RSST involvement into the project comes now when it is needed to prioritize the roads, so that PDO can
plan the budget and introduce the improvements trough stages (for 485km of road they would need to
allocate approximately 1 000 000 000 $, and of course PDO will not allocate this all at once)
First step for RSST-get the data from PDO regarding roads, incorporate the RTA numbers into the list, add
the planned prices and any other criteria that PDO would like to introduce and apply the TOPSIS procedure
for prioritization
PDO will then go to DRB (Decision review Board) and ask for the budget for this year, and propose
solutions,
Site visits and complete survey of the road network will be performed usually by ONE representative and
RSST representatives (me and the Controller for the location)
After the decision is made to continue with the project further activities are to suggest the solutions for the
targeted locations,
OSE will then come with their graded roads and propositions and the steps 4,5,6 and 7 will be repeated for
RSST but now with the OSE representative
ONE and OSE will have to provide justifications in terms of operations, cost etc, while RSST will have to
provide justification in terms of road safety,
PDO CFDH for the road design (engineering) will then review the suggested solutions and provide the
revision
The suggestions from CFDH must be incorporated into the final suggestion, and therefore RSST will have to
provide the proposals in terms of road safety and ONE, OSE in terms of the design process etc.
Final DRB is prepared and if the suggestions are accepted the project continues (and it most probably will)
PDO decides on the design process (is it going to be tendered or given to EMC or ODC) and initial designs
are made
ONE, OSE and CFDH reviews the solutions in terms of engineering standards, pavement design etc,
RSST provides the revision of initial designs and all of the suggestions are reverted back to the designers
Designers either incorporate the suggestions or provide the justification and reasons why the suggestions
cannot be incorporated
Regular meetings etc, between the designers, ONE, OSE and RSST will be conducted in order to reach the
final decision on the design
Detail designs are produced and sent for revision, ONE and OSE review the designs again in terms of
standards etc
RSST reviews the designs in terms of road safety
The go ahead is given for the designs to be constructed
During the construction if it encounters some difficulties the re-designing is done and again revised
After the construction is completed and the road opened for use site visit and pre-use inspection is done
(PDO and RSST together)

For the Junction project the previous 18 points are completed within one year and a half and the final revisions of the
detail designs are not yet over (they are with me at the moment and I have done 5 until now), and the OSE has not
yet provided me with their final designs, and they have more junctions than the North has.

So for the junction project it is safe to say it is a 2 year project and the net value of the project is 27 000 000 $.
