MOTO MECANICA ARGENTINA S.A.- MMA - es una empresa cuya
trayectoria industrial se inicia en 1929. Actualmente se especializa en el
diseo, fabricacin y servicio de equipos para la industria de petrleo y gas,
tales como cabezas de pozo, rboles de navidad, vlvulas, actuadores, y
sistemas de seguridad de superficie. Brinda tambin todos los servicios de
campo necesarios para estos productos, como montaje o reparacin y, a
pedido, puede manejar inventarios de los clientes. MMA est dedicada a
servir a las compaas operadoras, en las reas de perforacin, produccin,
recuperacin secundaria y transporte.
Ms del 50%de sus ventas se dirigen al mercado externo, fundamentalmente
a Amrica del Sur.

activities started in 1929. Presently it specializes in design, manufacture and
service of oilfield products, such as wellheads, christmas trees, valves,
actuators and surface safety equipment. MMA provides a complete range of
field services for example instalation, maintenance and repair. MMA also
manages inventory for customers, provides services and products to the oil
field operator be it for the areas of drilling, production, secondary recovery and
transport. More than 50 %of MMA's sales go to foreign markets, especially

MMA aplica en todos sus procesos las disposiciones

de las Normas API Q1 e ISO9001, para las que est
certificada. Sus productos son monogramados bajo
las normas API 6A y API 6D.
Su planta industrial se encuentra en Buenos Aires,
Argentina, con fbrica y oficinas que cubren 13225
m2 de un total de 23800 m2 de tierra. Dispone de
oficinas comerciales y depsitos con amplio stock
en el territorio de Argentina: en las ciudades de
Neuqun, Comodoro Rivadavia y Salta; y en el
exterior: en Ro de Janeiro, Brasil, y Santa Cruz de la
Sierra, Bolivia. Asimismo cuenta con representantes
en India, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela y Per.
MMA is certified under standards API Q1 and ISO 9001

and applies these to all of its activities. MMA products are
monogrammed under standards API 6A and API 6D.
MMAs main manufactoring plant are located 30 Km NW
of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Total covered area is app.
130000 sg Ft on a property of 260000 sg Ft of land. MMA
has several commercial offices and warehouses with
inventory in the oil producing areas of Argentina:
Neuqun, Comodoro Rivadavia and Salta. Out of
Argentina have service and warehouse locations in: Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil and Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia as well

Este colgador dual partido permite que cada sarta pueda ser
bajada en forma independiente, proveyendo un pasaje mximo
para la instalacin de vlvulas para gas lift o packers. Luego de
energizar los sellos del espacio anular es posible retirar los
preventores de surgencia con el pozo bajo control.
This Dual split hanger allows each string to be run or pulled
independently and provides maximum clearance for running gas
lift valves or packers.The plastic energized annulus seal provides
full annular pressure control before BOP removal.

Las cabezas inferiores tipo MC son fabricadas en forma estandard para alojar los colgadores de caeria tipo MC-21, MC-22 Y MC-29. Las
salidas laterales se proveen normalmente con rosca de 2 LP y opcionalmente con bridas abiertas. La conexin inferior puede ser roscada o
con preparacion para soldar.
Tambin estn disponibles las cabezas inferiores tipo MC-22P y MC-29P, las que son fabricadas con dos pernos de retencin para sujetar el
buje de desgaste. Estas no aceptan los anillos de sello tipo H.
The MC casing head housing is manufactured on a standard basis to house types MC-21, MC-22 Y MC-29 casing hangers. Side outlets can
be 2 LP threaded or open faced flanged. Flanged outlets are provided with internal thread for valve removal plug. The bottom connection can
be threaded or slip-on welding. Also available are types MC-22P and MC-29P casing heads. They are furnished with tiedown screws to lock
the wear bushing. They do not house the type H seal rings.

cabeza de pozo sobre una gran rea cuando se trabaja en
terrenos pantanosos u otras aplicaciones. Pueden ser de una
pieza o partidas para poder removerlas y reutilizarlas.
Landing bases are used to distribute wellhead loads over larger
areas when working in marshy locations or other applications. The
landing bases can be furnished in one piece or split for remove
and reuse.

Los carreteles intermedios tipo MC son fabricados en forma estandard para alojar los colgadores de caeria tipo MC-21, MC-22 y MC-29. Las salidas
laterales pueden ser roscadas o bridadas. Las salidas laterales con bridas abiertas o esparragadas tiene roscas internas para tapones de remover
vlvulas.
Los carreteles intermedios tipo MC se proveen con preparacin inferior para alojar la empaquetadura secundaria tipo DSS, DSP o X y la gua trpano.

Es un colgador de casing de perfil cilndrico y simple

mordaza. Se aloja en las cabezas inferiores e
intermedias MC-22 o MCM. Se usa junto con el sello tipo
H para aislar el espacio anular independientemente de la
carga de la caera sobre el colgador. No se puede usar
cuando la cabeza tiene pernos de sujecin (Cabeza
inferior o intermedia MC-22P o MC-29P) o con anillos
BX.

A cilindrical profile and simple slip casing hanger, which

is housed in type MC-22 or MCM casing heads or casing
spools. It must be used together with the type H seal to
isolate the annulus space independently of the casing
load on the hanger. It cannot be used in casing heads or
casing spools with tiedown screws (type MC-22P and
MC-29P casing head or casing spools) or BX seal rings.

intermedias tipo MC. Est partido para abrazar la
caera y puede ser bajado a travs de los preventores.
El sello anular es energizado automticamente por el
peso de la caera.
A cilindrical profile, simple slip hanger which is housed in
all MC types casing heads or casing spools. The MC-22
casing hanger is a wrap-around, integral slip and seal
assembly wich can be lowered through full opening
blowout preventers. Annulus seal is energized
automatically by casing weight.
COLGADOR DE CAERIA TIPO MC-29

TYPE MC-29 CASING HANGER
Es un colgador de casing de perfil cilndrico y doble

mordaza. Se aloja en las cabezas inferiores e
intermedias MC-29 o MCM. Est partido para abrazar la
caera y puede ser bajado a travs de los preventores.
El sello anular es energizado automticamente por el
peso de caera. Es de alta capacidad de carga y
distribuye los esfuerzos para minimizar la deflexin de la
caera.
A cilindrical profile, double slip casing hanger which is
used in type MC-29 or MCM casing heads or casing
spools. The MC-29 casing hanger is a wrap-around,
integral slip and seal assembly wich can be lowered
through full opening blowout preventers.
Annulus seal is energized automatically by casing
weight.
Dual slips provide highload capacity and distribute
casing load to reduce deflection. The MC-29 will not
collapse casing even at high casing loads.

Consta de dos sellos tipo S dispuestos en canales mecanizados
directamente sobre el cuerpo del carretel. Los sellos tipo S son
sellos de interferencia para soportar presiones hasta 10000 psi.
It is formed by two type S seals housed in grooves directly
machined in the body. They are energized by interference, include
stainless steel garter springs to prevent extrusion and withstand
up to 10000 psi working pressure.
EMPAQUETADURA INTEGRAL DOBLE SELLO P ( DSP )

INTEGRAL DOUBLE P SEAL ( DSP )
Consta de dos sellos tipo P dispuestos en canales mecanizados
directamente sobre el cuerpo del carretel. Los sellos tipo P son
sellos energizables por injeccin de empaque plstico para
soportar presiones hasta 10000 psi.
It is formed by two type P seals housed in grooves directly
machined in the body and are energized by plastic packing
injection to withstand up to 10000 psi working pressure.

TYPE X SECONDARY PACKING
Es una empaquetadura energizable por inyeccin de empaque

plstico para presin de trabajo de hasta 10000 psi. Se aloja en la
brida inferior de los carreteles con la preparacin
correspondiente.
It is energized by plastic packing injection to withstand up to 10000
psi working pressure. They are installed in the bottom of spools
with the appropriate preparation.
BUJE REDUCTOR BR2S

BR2S REDUCTION BUSHING
Permite reducir el tamao del casing. Se aloja en carreteles
intermedios o de produccin con doble sello integral tipo S ( DSS )
que tengan preparacin inferior para el buje reductor BR2S.
Soporta presiones de trabajo de hasta 10000 psi.
Allows reduction of casing size. It is housed in casing spools or
tubing spools with integral DSS and reducer bushing BR2S
preparation. They can withstand up to 10000 psi working
pressure.
BRIDA DOBLE EMPAQUE

DOUBLE PACK-OFF FLANGE
La brida doble empaque provee un sello auxiliar de la caera y un

medio para probar el sello de la caera y el sello anular primario
debajo de la brida. Tambin se usa para aislar cuerpos de distinta
presin de trabajo.
The double pack-off flange provides an auxiliary casing seal and
means for pressure testing the casing seal and primary annulus
seal below the flange.
Additionally these flanges may be used as cross-over flanges
where the top connection may be exposed to higher pressures
than the original rated pressure.

Los carreteles de produccin tipo G son fabricados en forma

standard para alojar los colgadores de tubera tipo GA, GR, GS y
los colgadores de cuello extendido tipo GRE1 y GRE2. Las bridas
superiores tienen pernos de retencin para energizar el sello
anular.
Las salidas laterales pueden ser roscadas o bridadas. Las salidas
laterales con bridas abiertas o esparragadas tienen roscas
internas para tapones de remover vlvulas.
Los carreteles intermedios tipo G se proveen con preparacin
inferior para alojar la empaquetadura secundaria tipo DSS, DSP o
X y la gua trpano.
Los carreteles de produccin tipo MCM son fabricados en forma

standard para alojar los colgadores de tubera tipo MC-1W, MC1A, MC 1A-BP, MC1, Mc2 y MCP1, como tambin colgadores de
casing MC-22 y MC-29. Las bridas superiores tienen pernos de
retencin para energizar el sello anular.
Las salidas laterales pueden ser roscadas o bridadas. Las salidas
laterales con bridas abiertas o esparragadas tienen roscas
internas para tapones de remover vlvulas.
Los carreteles intermedios tipo MCM se proveen con preparacin
inferior para alojar la empaquetadura secundaria tipo DSS, DSP o
X y la gua trpano.
Type G tubing spools are tapered bowl spools manufactured on a

basis to house GA, GR, GS tubing hangers and GRE1 and GRE2
extended neck tubing hangers. Tie down screws in top flange hold
tubing hangers and wear bushings in place and energize the
annulus seal.
Side outlets may be flanged, studded or threaded for line pipe.
Flanged and studded outlets are threaded for a valve removal
plug.
Type G tubing spools are available with bottom preparations for
standard secondary seals type DSS, DSP or X and bit pilot.
Type MCM tubing spools are tapered bowl spools manufactured

Los colgadores duales partidos tipo DMC van alojados en los

11 y para tuberas de 2 3/8, 2 7/8 y 3 1/2. Se proveen con rosca
interna para alojar vlvula de contrapresin. Poseen cuello

is provided to protect seals from damage during handling and
installation; this is removed prior to tree block or adaptor flange

D seals on hanger body are energized through plastic packing

MMA tree caps are installed on top of Christmas trees for quick access to the tubing bore for bottom hole testing, cleaning or installing back
pressure valve. Single completion tree caps have wing union nut for hammer tightening and the body is provided with top lifting thread.
Dual completion tree caps have union nut for pipe wrench but lifting thread is not provided. However, for that purpose the upper thread of the
5 hole flange may be used.

HCC Combination Wear Bushing Running Tool and BOP
Test Plug runs on drill pipe. With the pin up, it allows to
installation or removal of the wear bushing; and with the
pin down, it lands and seals in the head or spool housing
and allows the pressure testing of the BOP stack.
Bushings are used to adapt the basic tool to different
sizes. Drill pipe can be suspended below the test plug,
eliminating the need to trip all pipe out of the hole.

Si se requiere hacer pruebas de presin en el rbol de Surgencia se debe
instalar la Vlvula Retencin de 2 vas. sta tambin permite equalizar
presin encima y debajo del asiento para retirar con seguridad el colgador de
tubing.
Type H back Pressure Valve is used to seal tubing pressure to 15,000 psi while
the blowout preventors are removed and the Chistmas tree is installed. It also
permits fluid to be circulated down the tubing and prevents back flow.
If the Christmas tree has to be pressure tested, the type H
Two-Way Check Valve must be installed. It also allows pressure to be
equalized above and below the seal, ensuring safe removal from the tubing
hanger.

The Valve Removal Plug allows the installation and removal of the valve under
pressure, up to 15,000 psi, by means of a lubricator.
The Control Plug is a check valve which allows a pressure gauge to be

Las vlvulas esclusa API 6A modelo T10 y T15 han sido
desarrolladas para cubrir una amplia gama de aplicaciones como

CARACTERISTICAS
Sello Metal-Metal:
Sello metal-metal entre esclusa y asiento y entre asiento y cuerpo.
Sello Bidireccional:

Contrasiento:
El vstago esta diseado para hacer contrasiento metal-metal en

El cuerpo de la vlvula carece de

The non elastomeric steam packing is unaffected by H2S, CO2,
amines and other chemicals encountered in the oilfield. The
packing design provides low operation torque under any service
condition.
Easy operation:
The valve opens and closes without excessive force. After the
required number of closure turns, the handwheel should be
backed one-quarter turn. The valve is then fully closed and
sealed.
No body penetrations:
Body without penetrations. Grease injection fitting is located on
the bonnet, on the dowstream side of the backseat for safety.
Stem shear pin:
The stem is protected against overtorque by the stem shear pin.
The pin can be quickly replaced without disassembling the valve
bonnet.
Field replaceable seats:
Floating seats are easily field replaceable.
Valves with actuators:
Model T10 API 6A gate valves can be converted to automatic
safety valves with the adition of pneumatic or hydraulic actuators.

CARACTERISTICAS
Paso total:
El diseo de paso total ofrece un pasaje de flujo no menor que el dimetro
interior del cao, evita turbulencias y entrada de materia extraa en el
cuerpo.
Recubrimiento de disulfuro de molibdeno:
La esclusa y el vstago estn tratados con laca de disulfuro de molibdeno
que confiere resistencia a la corrosin y lubricacin durante toda la vida
til.
Sellos sin lubricacin:
La vlvula MMA modelo "R" no requiere inyeccin de sellador ni lubricante
en los asientos. Sin embargo posee dos accesorios de engrase que
permiten purgar e inyectar lubricante. Esto contribuye a una mayor

emergency measure to help effect a temporary seal in the event

Two safety-capped grease fittings are provided so that the entire

valve body can be filled with grease.
Repackable under pressure
MMA plastic stem packing can be added to the packing box while
the valve is under pressure.
Seat inserts give double seal
Seat inserts of PTFE (tetrafluoroethylene resin)
give an initial PTFE-to-metal seal in addition to
the metal-to-metal seal wich is obtained when the
gate assembly is fully expanded.

Model "T" valves are used downstream of chokes or where a bi-directional

valve is required. Model "T" valves feature a slab gate and floating seats.
Pressure energized seats assure a tight seal. Mode of operation and
characteristics are the same as model "R" valves.
When closing the valve it is not necessary to back off the handwheel

La vlvula para alta temperatura modelo R-HT es utilizada para inyeccin
de vapor y otros servicios de alta temperatura hasta 343 C, en un rango
de presiones segn se muestra en la Tabla Presin-Temperatura.
Esta vlvula utiliza un conjunto de cua y segmento expansibles con el
que se obtiene un sello metal a metal sobre ambos asientos, no
requiriendo la inyeccin de sellador o lubricante. El sello no es afectado
por las variaciones de presin o temperatura.
Sus caractersticas son similares a la modelo R y tiene el sombrero
extendido para ubicar los sellos del vstago alejados de la zona de mayor
temperatura.
Model R-HT Gate Valve is used for steam injection and other extremely hot
services, to 343 C maximum with pressure as shown in the table below.
The high temperature model R-HT Gate Valve uses parallel expanding
gates to obtain a dry (non-lubricated), total metal-to-metal seal, both
upstream and downstream.
The seal is unaffected by pressure variations, vibration, or heat.
The valve is similar to the model R Gate valve with non-rising stem design,
modified by extension of the bonnet and stem to place the packing gland
outside the critical heat area and provide improved packing performance
at elevated temperatures.

Through-conduit
The Through-conduit design provides a full bore without
restriction. Destructive turbulence is eliminated and pressure loss
is minimized. This feature allows also to run through the bore any
type of tool that passes through the the pipes ID.
Trunnion mounted
The one piece ball-stem design of the M3 ball valve is the basis of
its compact and robust construction. This also ensures greater
rigidity and alignement of the stem, thus reducing bearing wear
and operating torque. The floating seats are not loaded by the
balls thrust. This ensures a long life of the seats and a positive
shutoff after many operation cycles.
Low operating torque
All the load due to pressure is supported by two non lubricated low
friction bearings. The bearings are isolated from the flow and the
external enviroment.
Internal stops
Internal double stop give precise topping support during opening
and closing. In the open position this prevents exposure of the
seats to damage and wear from the flow. The steam area is
protected by a rubber weather guard to shield stem from foreign
particles.
Actuators
The M3 ball valves can be supplied with electric or pneumatic
actuators for remote operation.

Model T10 API 6A Gate Valve
as vlvulas esclusa API 6A modelo T10 han sido
desarrolladas para cubrir una amplia gama de
aplicaciones como vlvulas de bloqueo para servicio de
petroleo y gas hasta 10000 PSI de presin de trabajo. Se
fabrican en extremos bridados desde 113/16 a 4 1/16, cubriendo
los requisitos de materiales segn API 6A clase AA hasta FF y
en niveles de fabricacin PSL2 a 4.
Su diseo simple y robusto les permite brindar un servicio
duradero y confiable con mnimo mantenimiento.

Sello metal-metal entre esclusa y asiento y entre asiento y

Metal to Metal seal:

Sealing at gate-to-seat and seat-to-body is metal to metal.
Bidirectional sealing:
The gate and seats seal in both directions.
The gate and seats can be reversed for
increased service life.

Backseating:
The stem shoulder can be backseated
against the bonnet to seal off the stuffing

developed to meet a wide range of applications
in oil and gas service up to 10000 PSI maximum
working pressure.
MMA T10 gate valves are available with flanged ends from
113/16 up to 4 1/16 in API 6A materials class AA through FF
and in product specification levels (PSL) 2 through 4. Simple
and robust features provides a longlife and reliability
service with low maintenance.

Stem packing:
The non elastomeric steam packing is
unaffected by H2S, CO2, amines and
other chemicals encountered in the
oilfield. The packing design provides
low operation torque under any service
condition.
Easy operation:
The valve opens and closes without excessive force. After the
required number of closure turns, the handwheel should be
backed one-quarter turn. The valve is then fully closed and
sealed.

Body without penetrations. Grease injection fitting is located

PRINCIPALES CARACTERISTICAS
La vlvula esclusa MMA modelo "R" utiliza el principio de
expansin controlada para producir un sello ajustado
mecnicamente que no es afectado por vibraciones ni
variaciones de presin.
Paso total:
El diseo de paso total ofrece un pasaje de flujo no
menor que el dimetro interior del cao, evita turbulencias y

entrada de materia extraa en el cuerpo.
Recubrimiento de disulfuro de molibdeno:

La esclusa y el vstago estn tratados con laca de disulfuro
de molibdeno que confiere resistencia a la corrosin y
lubricacin durante toda la vida til.
Sellos sin lubricacin:

La vlvula MMA modelo "R" no requiere inyeccin
de sellador ni lubricante en los asientos. Sin
embargo posee dos accesorios de engrase que
permiten purgar e inyectar lubricante. Esto
contribuye a una mayor facilidad de operacin,
resistencia a la corrosin y prolonga la vida til.
La inyeccin de lubricante tambin puede usarse
para conseguir un sello temporario en caso de
emergencia por algn dao en los asientos.
La vlvula utiliza el principio de doble cua de expansin paralela. El par

producido en el volante crea mecnicamente una fuerza de cierre
extraordinariamente alta contra ambos asientos. En la posicin abierta
se obtiene un paso total del flujo a travs de la vlvula sin turbulencias y

surfaces. The face-to-face width of the gate-segment assembly is less
than the distance between the upstream and down-stream seats. Thus,
the gates move freely between the seats.

Gates and stems of model "R" valves are coated with
a moly-disulfide corrosion-resistant, low-friction
material which provides lifetime lubrication of
wearing surfaces.
Seals without lubrication
Model "R" gate valves do not require lubrication for
positive sealing in normal operation. Lubrication can
be employed as an emergency measure to help
effect a temporary seal in the event the gate or seats
have become damaged by foreing matter in the
valve. Two safety-capped grease fittings are
provided so that the entire valve body can be filled
with grease.
Repackable under pressure
MMA plastic stem packing can be added to the
packing box while the valve is under pressure.
Seat inserts give double seal
Seat inserts of PTFE (tetrafluoroethylene resin) give
an initial PTFE-to-metal seal in addition to the metalto-metal seal wich is obtained when the gate
assembly is fully expanded.

MODEL R-HT API 6A GATE VALVE 2000 TO 5000 PSI
a vlvula para alta temperatura modelo R-HT es utilizada para

inyeccin de vapor y otros servicios de alta temperatura hasta 343
C, en un rango de presiones segn se muestra en la Tabla
Presin-Temperatura.
Esta vlvula utiliza un conjunto de cua y segmento expansibles con el
que se obtiene un sello metal a metal sobre ambos asientos, no
requiriendo la inyeccin de sellador o lubricante. El sello no es afectado
por las variaciones de presin o temperatura.
Sus caractersticas son similares a la modelo R y tiene el sombrero
extendido para ubicar los sellos del vstago alejados de la zona de
mayor temperatura.
odel R-HT Gate Valve is used for steam injection and other
extremely hot services, to 343 C maximum with pressure
derating above 121 C.
The high temperature model R-HT Gate Valve uses parallel expanding
gates to obtain a dry (non-lubricated), total metal-to-metal seal, both
upstream and downstream.
The seal is unaffected by pressure variations, vibration, or heat.
The valve is as the model R Gate valve non-rising stem design,
modified by extension of the bonnet and stem to place the packing
gland outside the critical heat area and provide improved packing
performance at elevated temperatures.

as vlvulas MMA modelo "T2" se usan para

diversos servicios en pozos o plantas donde
se requieran vlvulas bidireccionales.
Las vlvulas modelo "T2 tienen esclusa plana y asientos flotantes. La
presin energiza los asientos contra la esclusa logrando un sello
hermtico aguas arriba y aguas abajo.
Las caractersticas son similares a las vlvulas modelo "T". Cuando se
cierra la vlvula debe girarse el volante vuelta hacia atras.
odel "T2" valves are used where a bi-directional valve is required.
Model "T2" valves feature a slab gate and floating seats.
Pressure energized seats assure a tight seal.
Characteristics are the same as model "T valves. When closing the
valve it is necessary to back off the handwheel turn.

he MMA M3 model ball valve is a shutoff valves developed to meet a wide range of applications in the water,
oil and gas industry.
Available in nominal sizes from 2 to 4 inches, pressures up to

3,000 psi. and flanged, screwed or welding ends, it is particularly
suitable when a strong and safe valve is needed.
The design and the materials meet the API 6A and 6D requirements. Its advanced design offer many advantages:
Through-conduit
The through-conduit design provides a full bore without restriction. Destructive turbulence is eliminated and pressure loss is
minimized. This feature allows also to run through the bore any
type of tool that passes through the pipes ID.
Trunnion mounted
The one piece ball-stem design of the M3 ball valve is the basis
of its compact and robust construction. This also ensures greater
rigidity and alignement of the stem, thus reducing bearing wear
and operating torque. The floating seats are not loaded by the
balls thrust. This ensures a long life of the seats and a positive
shutoff after many operation cycles.
Low operating torque
All the load due to pressure is supported by two non lubricated
low friction bearings. The bearings are isolated from the flow and
the external environment.
Internal stops
Internal double stops give precise topping support during opening
and closing. In the open position this prevents exposure of the
seats to damage and wear from the flow. The stem area is protected by a rubber weather guard to shield stem from foreign
particles.
Available materials
The material table illustrates the most common trim selections for
noncorrosive fluids, mild corrosion fluids, fluids containing hydrogen sulfides and water flood.
Actuators
The M3 ball valves can be supplied with electric or pneumatic
actuators for remote operation.

Est disponible en medidas desde 2 a 4, presiones de trabajo

de hasta 3000 psi y extremos bridados, roscados o para soldar. Es
particularmente adecuada cuando se requiere una vlvula robusta
y segura.
El diseo y los materiales de la vlvula M3 cumplen las especificaciones de las normas API 6A y 6D. Su avanzado diseo ofrece
muchas ventajas:
Paso total
El pasaje interno de la vlvula es completo y no existe restriccin
del flujo. Esto reduce la turbulencia y la prdida de carga. Es
posible atravesar la vlvula con cualquier herramienta que pase
por el dimetro interior del tubo.
Esfera guiada
La construccin en una sola pieza de esfera y vstago es la base
de su diseo compacto y robusto. Esto tambin proporciona mayor rigidez y alineacin reduciendo el desgaste de los cojinetes y
el torque de operacin.
Bajo torque de operacin
La carga producida por la presin es soportada por dos cojinetes
autolubricados de baja friccin que estn aislados del flujo y del
medio ambiente.
Topes internos
La accin dual de los topes proporciona gran precisin al final de
carrera en la apertura y el cierre. En la posicin abierta esto evita
que los asientos queden expuestos a la erosin del flujo. Una
cubierta de neoprene impide el ingreso de partculas al vstago.
Materiales
La tabla de materiales especifica los montajes ms usuales para
fluidos levemente corrosivos, altamente corrosivos, fluidos con
cido sulfdrico y para inyeccin de agua.
Actuadores
Las vlvulas esfricas M3 pueden suministrarse con actuadores
elctricos o neumticos para control remoto.

The basic components of the MMA-SSS are:
Vlvula de Seguridad de Superficie (VSS). Constituida
por una vlvula MMA modelo S y un actuador que
puede ser neumtico o hidrulico.
MMA Surface Safety Valve (VSS). This is a set of one
MMA Model S gate valve and one actuator which can
be either pneumatic or hydraulic.

VALVULA DE SEGURIDAD DE SUPERFICIE (VSS):
SURFACE SAFETY VALVE (SSV):
La VSS es un dispositivo que obtura o permite el pasaje
de fluidos a travs de la linea de produccin y por ello
es una parte esencial del Sistema de Seguridad de
Superficie. Esta formado por una vlvula esclusa MMA
modelo S y un actuador MMA. La combinacin de la
vlvula esclusa MMA modelo S de esclusa invertida
(el pasaje de la vlvula esta en la parte superior de la
esclusa), y la configuracin de los actuadores MMA
hace que la VSS sea Normal-Cerrada.
The SSV is the device that blocks or allows the flow thru
the production line. It is therefore an essential part of the
Surface Safety System. It is constituted by
a MMA Model S gate valve plus a MMA actuator. The
combination of the Model S gate valve with an inverted
port gate (the opening port is in the upper section of the
gate) as well as the configuration of the MMA actuators,
allows that the position of the SSV to be normally closed.
Es por ello, que con el actuador despresurizado, la

vlvula permanece cerrada debindose presurizar el
actuador para abrirla. En caso de una emergencia,
prdida de la presin de control o falla en los sellos del
actuador la VSS se cerrara automticamente debido a
la accin de efecto pistn sobre el vstago y la fuerza
adicional del resorte.
When the actuator is non pressurized, the SSV will
block the flow line. It is necessary to put pressure in the
actuator to open the SSV. In case there was an
emergency, a pressure leak in the control line or the
actuator seals, the SSV will shut down the production
line due the piston effect in the stem plus the additional
thrust of the actuators springs.

El controlador Neumtico CNM, est diseado como
una unidad compacta que puede sensar presiones de
lnea desde 50 PSI (3,4 bar) hasta 11480 PSI (791bar) y
temperatura de trabajo de -30 C (-22 F) hasta 80 C
(176 F).
La principal funcin del Controlador Neumtico CNM es

cerrar la Vlvula de Seguridad de Superficie
Neumtica. En caso que la presin sensada salga por
debajo o por encima de los limites preestablecidos, el
Controlador Neumtico CNM automticamente ventea
el actuador y cierra la vlvula esclusa. Ademas, permite
el cierre local/manual accionando el rele neumtico
(pos. No. 4).
The main function of the CNM Pneumatic Controller
is to shut down the Pneumatic Surface Safety Valve.
In case that the sensed pressure goes above or
below the pre established limits, the CNM Pneumatic
Controller automatically vents the actuator and shuts
down the gate valve. It also allows local/manual shut
down by tripping the pneumatic relay (pos N 4).

El rel neumtico (Rele NM) es el encargado de

controlar la alimentacin de gas al actuador de la
vlvula de seguridad.

REMOTE WELLS CONTROL SYSTEMS (RWCS):
El STP, incluye a Sistema de Seguridad de Superficie (SSS) y un choke ajustable, posicionadores,
vlvula solenoide, Unidad Terminal Remota (RTU),
sistema de telecomunicaciones y una UPS. Todo esto combinado permite regular y controlar la produccin de cada pozo desde una sala de contro remotal
El Sistema de Telecomando de Pozos (STP) permite

controlar varios pozos en forma remota desde una
sala de control. El STP permite conocer en todo
momento los parmetros de cada pozos y ajustar los
niveles de produccin de acuerdo a la demanda
requerida. Todo esto tiende a incrementar la
eficiencia y seguridad.
The RWCS, includes a Surface Safety System (SSS)

and an adjustable choke, positioners, solenoid valve,
Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), telecomunication
system and a UPS. All this combined allows to
regulate & control the production flow of each
wellhead from a remotely located control room.
The Remote Wellhead Control System (RWCS)

allows to control several wellheads from a remotely
located control room. The RWCS allows at all times to
know the parameters of each well and adjust
production levels as required by demand. All this
tends to increase efficienty & safety.
