(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that the Newport City
Council in exercise of its powers under the
Road Trafic Regulation Act (as amended)
have made an Order the effect of which is:1. to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along High Street, Caerleon (between
Castle Street and White Hart Lane)
2. to temporarily suspend the existing
one-way trafic orders affecting High
Street (between Lodge Road and Cross
Street), Castle Street and Mill Street
(between Castle Street and Usk Road)
The alternative route will be via the existing
one way system which will be temporarily
suspended.
The reason for making the Order is to
enable excavations to be carried out in the
carriageway to repair a leaking water main.
The Order is operative from 8 February
2015 and will continue in force for a period
not exceeding eighteen months or until the
works which it is proposed to carry out have
been completed, whichever is the earlier.
NB. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within one day Sunday 8th
February 2015.

On 27th January 2015 Newport City Council adopted
a Local Development Plan (LDP) for Newport. The
adopted LDP will form the development plan for
Newport and will be the basis for decisions on land
use planning in this area.
Copies of the adopted LDP, the recommendations
of the person appointed to hold the independent
examination, the sustainability appraisal report
(incorporating the environmental report), the
consultation report and a statement indicating how the
environmental report etc. has been taken into account
are available for inspection during normal opening
hours, free of charge at:

Building, Queensway, Newport, NP20 4AX
All Newport Libraries
They are also available on the Councils website at:
www.newport.gov.uk/planningpolicy
Copies of the LDP, including its proposal map, will be
available for purchase from the Information Station
and by arrangement through the Planning Policy Team
during April/May 2015.
The LDP became operative on its adoption
(i.e. 27th January 2015).

to the High Court under Section 113 of the
2004 Act.
