Weak Base Anion ( WBA ) and Strong Base Anion ( SBA ) are
almost similar as WAC / SAC units in construction. These units are

Mixed Bed (MB) unit are used for polishing of treated water from
Strong Base Anion Unit or RO plant. MB produced ultrapure water,
which is required for high pressure boiler feed water application,
semi-conductor and micro-electronics industry applications. In this
process Cation and Anion resins are mixed in single vessel and
water is passed through resin bed where exchange of ions takes
place. For regeneration of MB unit, both resins are first separated
from each other by applying upward water-flow due to specific
gravity difference, once resin are separated, acid is applied on
cation resin and alkali is applied on anion resins respectively to
regenerate these resin. MB vessel have specific frontal piping
arrangement for the regeneration of resins.
