Annexure A

Allowances for Deployment in HCL Tech Apps Division (Including ERS)


Applicability: All technical & billable employees deployed in HCL Techs Apps Division (Including
ERS). All claims have to be approved by RM.
Shift Definition:
Category A: Billable employees who work in
24*7 operations and are assigned to one of
the following 3 shifts:

APAC shift - with start time between


04:30 - 07:30 hrs

EMEA shift - with start time between


11:30 -15:30 hrs

AMER shift - with start time between


16:30 - 00:30 hrs

Category B: Employees who work in General


shift by default (9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) and
are required to work in a different shift timing
on
certain
days
based
on
business
requirements. Either of the following two
conditions needs to be satisfied for coverage
under this category:
Shifts start before 07:00 hrs or
Shifts end after 22:00 hrs
Shift working is defined as no. of hours worked
either before 0700 hrs or after 2200 hrs.
The above must not be confused with
extended time beyond the general shift
timings.
For Example if you normally work from 9am to
6:30pm but you have been asked by the client
to work 4am to 1:30pm for one week then can
claim shift working for 3 hours extra (4am to
7am) per day.
You cant claim shift allowance under this
category, If you normally work from 9am to
6:30pm but have to extend the working till
10pm in the night for business work.

To avail this allowance,

one days gross wages. Gross Wages include Basic,
Deployment allowance, HRA, CCA, Statutory Advance
Bonus and Conveyance & Medical Allowance.

Employees can claim up to INR 100/- per meal for food


expenses on producing the bills and approval of RM.

No Cabs or Conveyance
Allowance will be provided
for work in this period.

to only one Holiday and
week-off calendar either
India Calendar or Customer
Specific Calendar
This is applicable to
permanent employees of

Employee have to support


the meal allowance claims
with both RM approval and
food bill.
Meal Allowance is not
applicable for new joinees
attending the office/
staying late for training
purpose on weekdays /
Weekly Off / National /
Festival Holiday

For employees
working beyond
8.30 pm on
weekdays and
not governed
under any of the
shift working
policy.
