Cobb County Commission on Children and Youth (Marietta, GA) 2004 to Present
The Cobb County Commission on Children and Youth is charged with focusing on the needs, issues, and problems
relating to children and youth in Cobb County.
Motivational Speaker
Position with Cobb County Middle and High Schools which affords the opportunity to reach teen and pre-teens
through a preventive program that deals with critical topics such as abstinence, character development, and self
esteem.
Effectively partner with the Cobb County School System to reach students before they make unwise choices
relating to drugs, alcohol, and sex
Conduct an annual rally each year for all participating schools to provide students with a support system by
connecting them with others who make wise decisions
Provide leadership development opportunities to encourage students to drive changes in their school,
communities, and personal lives
Build key relationships with schools, churches, parents, and students to garner support for the program and the
students
Other Experiences
Prior to discovering my life’s purpose and passion for working with youth and families, I spent time as an IT
professional. The following career experiences afforded opportunities to develop and hone many of the skills that I
leverage daily in carrying out the work outlined in the Non-Profit Professional Portfolio above - work that I truly find
fulfilling and is beneficial to others.

Youth Specialties Conference, 2007 – “The Art of You” (Conference speaker leading a charge to help young
people celebrate their unique God design. Session focused on assisting participants with learning to be
comfortable with the masterpiece God created them to be – the person on the inside.)
Purpose Driven Youth Ministry Conference, 2009 – “The Purpose of Worship” (Speaker at a youth conference to
educate youth about the purpose of worship, how to apply it, and its benefits. Conference participants departed
with a deeper appreciation for the fact that worship goes beyond music – it is a lifestyle)
Metro Atlanta Area Middle School and High Schools, Year – “Loving Me From the Inside Out” (Speaker at
Metro Atlanta middle and high schools to help teens get to the root cause of their decision making and
behavior. Part of an outreach program in Cobb County Schools to reach teens before they make life altering
