Internet),thenyoumayneedtospecifytheservershostnameIP
address.Ontheclient:
1) OpenWebAdmin.
2) Configuration/Network.
3) AddtheservertotheServerSearchList.
Thisfieldcanhavemultipleentries;theclientsearchesfor
availablelicensesinthespecifiedorderandonlyonthespecified
servers.Onlywhenthelistisemptydoestheclientsearchfor
otheravailableservers.
AccessControl
Withthedefaultsettings,allcomputersonthesamelocal
network(samesubnet)canusealicensefromtheserver.
Torestrictaccess:
1) OpenWebAdmin.
2) GotoConfiguration/AccessControl.
IftheClientslistisempty,anyoneonthelocalnetworkcanusea
license.Ifatleastoneentryislistedhere,onlythelistedentries
canrequestalicense.
Note:IftheserverispublicontheInternet,ornooneis
allowedtousealicense,makesurethatthislistisfilledout

Thereisnoadditionalsettingneededtoenablelicenseborrowing
butyoumaycustomizethefollowingsettings:
BorrowDuration
Bydefaulttheborrowedlicensesarevalidfor30days.Ifthe
licenseisnotreturnedwithinthisperiod,thelicensewillexpire
andwillbeautomaticallyreturnedtotheserver.Tocustomizethis
maximumtime(upto30days):
1) OpenWebAdmin.
2) GotoConfiguration/Borrowing.
3) SetthepreferredMaximumBorrowDuration,inminutes.
MaximumNumberofBorrowableLicenses
Youcanalsomaximizethenumberoflicensesavailablefor
borrowing.EnterthepreferrednumberintheMaximumBorrow
Quantityfield.Thisvaluecannotexceedtheavailablelicense
quantityoftheborrowingproduct.

EachclientidentifiestheserverbyeitherhostnameorIPaddress.
Thiscanbecustomizedontheserverlevel,sowhentheserver
issuesthelicense,theclientgetsthechosenaddressandwilltry
toreturnthelicensetothegivenaddress.Onnetworkswith
reliableDNSsettings,Servernameidentificationisthebest
choice,butonnetworkswithoutit,orinmixedplatform
environment(Mac&Windows),chooseidentificationbasedonIP
addresses.InthatcaseitisimportanttousestaticIPaddressfor
theServer.
Note:Tocustomizeallofthesesettings(Borrowingsettings
andServerIdentification),checktheOverwriteEntrySettings
boxintheLicenseBorrowinginterfaceoftheWebAdmin.Itis
stronglyrecommendedtotesttheborrowenvironment.Seta
relativelyshortBorrowDurationandyoucantestyoursetup
withoutriskingthelossofalicenseforalongperiod.
Add/Repair(ReinstallingArchiCAD)
IfyoualreadyhaveArchiCADinstalled,andstarttheInstallation
Wizard,youareprovidedwithtwooptions:
1) Addwilladdnewfeaturestoyourcurrentinstallation.Youwill
seeallavailablefeaturesinalistandyoucancheckfeaturesto
beaddedtoyourcurrentinstallation.

CompleteRecordedInstallation
Afterviewingasummaryofyourinstallationchoices,clickthe
Installbuttononthescreentoinitiatetherecordedinstallation.
Onthenextscreens,threeadditionaloptionswillbeaddedtothe
recordedinstallation,andwillbecarriedoutoneachendusers
machine:
iftheinstallerdetectscustomizedWorkEnvironmentProfiles
fromearlierArchiCADversions(9through17)ontheend
usersmachine,decidewhethertheseshouldbeimportedto
ArchiCAD18ornot;
decidewhetheranArchiCAD18desktopshortcutshouldbe
createdonthedesktop;
decidewhethertheenduserssystemshouldreboot
automaticallyfollowingtheinstallation.
Finally,definethepathtowhichtherecordedfileanexecutable
applicationshouldbesaved.
Youhavenowcreatedaninstallationpackage.Whenuserslaunch
this.exeapplicationonWindows,orArchiCADInstalleronMac,
ontheserver,theusualqueriesposedbytheInstallationWizard
areskipped;theinstallationbeginsimmediately.Theinstalled
copyofArchiCADwillhavethepreviouslydefineddefault
settings.
