8DIO MINI

MINI

8DIO: MINI
Produced by Troels Folmann. Co-produced by Mike Peaslee.

MINI isthe sound of tiny, little things. It is the tick and the tock, but not the clock. The
little clack, the sound of rock. MINI is the embryonic state of all sound and we want you
invite you back to the womb.
8DIO "MINI" is the most comprehensive sample library done of ultra tiny object
sounds. MINI contains several thousand samples of anything from buttons to bowling
toys, wooden branches to eating chips, boiling frying pans to human hoses, nail files to
pocket watches, sand-drums to styrofoam, teeth clacks to water bubbles etc. The
concept may seem strange at first, but these sounds have remarkable value in terms of
composition and music, since the "MINI" covers a very specific sound and frequency
spectrum.
MINI is the opposite of epic, yet big in its own way.
Note:This product was formerly known as Tonehammer Mini.

MANUAL INSTALLATION
If you have had any issues using our automatic installer.
Please using the following manual installation procedure.
We Use Winrar (version 3.80 or later) or other compatible
program to un-compress the 8DIO_MINI.rar file into its own
folder in your sample library directory. Make sure to preserve
the included folder structure. This is usually done by selecting
the extract to'... option in Winrar or UnrarX.
Heres a link to winrar for PC:
http://www.win-rar.com/download.html
Heres a link to UnRarX for OSX:
http://www.unrarx.com/
You should now be able to open and play the .nki files. Be aware
that all of our .nki files are compatible with full retail versions of
Kontakt 2 (version 2.2.4 or later) or Kontakt 3 (version 3.0 or
later) only.
Note: Free Kompakt Players and Kontakt Players that come
bundled with DAW software, hardware or other sample libraries
won't be able to load ours or any other instrument library that
didn't originally come bundled with it. We're sorry, but it's the
way Kontakt and Kompakt Players work by design. However,
since our wave directories are open, you can translate the
patches into whatever format you like. There are a few
conversion utilities available that can make the translation
process much easier, such as as CDXtract. Just make sure you
don't share them with others without asking. Each user must
purchase their own copy of this instrument from 8DIO.

8DIO MINI
Abacus (Counting Rack)
The abacus is a counting rack or table. The abacus dates back to the Babylonians (300 B.C), but sound
is still fresh. This patch was made by tilting the abacus, so all the counting thingys would clack, so it has
a rather powerful, yet loose clack type of sound.
Air Hammer / 8-10 x round robin
The air hammer is an inflatable hammer made for children. It makes the coolest noises when you hit

and train towards it. It has a very scratchy sound and works very effectively as a crescendo type of
sound, especially the camel and train have a deep, powerful sound to them.
Breaking Small Branches
Imagine collecting like 100 small branches and breaking them apart. It gives a tiny, little crackly sound.
One tip is to play a variety of the sounds fast and randomly on the keyboard, which ironically sounds
totally like burning wood. The little crackly sounds that happens when the wood breaks in the heat.
Button (12 different button types) / 8-10 x round robin
This is your go-to kit for button sounds. We recorded 12 different type of buttons from computer

played by slowly muffling the palm of a hand on the surface of the cup, which means you can control

muffling/tone of the cup, so you can create slightly tonal rhythms out of it.
