Basic characteristics:
1. The tomato belongs to the nightshade
family, Solanaceae.
2. The plants typically grow to 13 meters (3
10 ft) in height and have a weak stem that often
sprawls over the ground and vines over other
plants.
3. It is a perennial in its native habitat, although
often grown outdoors in temperate climates as
an annual.

2. Roadside soil
The water holding capacity of garden
soil is much more than the roadside
soil. It is so because there is a large
amount of organic matter and certain
extra nutrients present in the garden
