Course Description
WELCOME TO MUSIC PERFORMANCE III!
This course is intended for the advanced music student to study with a music faculty member on a one-on-
one basis.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance is the most important part of this class. No unexcused absences will be allowed. The
only legitimate excused absences are illness (with a doctor’s note) or death in the family (with written
proof) or religious holydays in accordance with University policy set below. Please arrange the rest of your
schedule accordingly. Every unexcused absence will drop you ½ of a letter grade.
Students will meet with the area instructor on a weekly basis and/or attend a master class. Times will be
arranged with the area instructor.
If students cannot attend any of these concerts due to illness, they may attend another UTD season concert
to replace the assigned concert.

Grades are based on the following:
Attendance at lessons 40%
Concert reviews 10%
Master class participation and oral report 30%
Technique essay 10%
Performance essay 10%
