IPOS (Goetic Demon)

- 22nd Spirit of the Goetia. The number is the same number of hebrew letters.
-Appears in the form of an angel with a lion's head, a goose's foot and a hare's
tail. He knows all things, past, present and to come. He makes men witty and
bold. - Illustrated Goetia (DuQuette)
Lion = Symbolizes mental power, the mental body, electric states (radiative
or acting on external worlds), the mental centers (Kether, Chokmah, Binah)
Goose's foot = The Drawing on of power from the earth or other things and so
most appropriately the Malkuth Center, and so such things as ley lines - on
another level malkuth symbolizes influence from the external world or making use
of
external forces.
Tail = One's energy especially spinal currents and due to it being a rabbit's
tail likely fast work or burst of energy from it whether mental or astral. Rabbi
ts
are also associated with sexuality and tails with the spine and the yesod center
or
sexual center is located near the spine, and so likely symbolizes the yesod cent
er.
- Based on a level of qabbalistic symbolism, Goetic Demons are symbolic of
acting on the AP plane and so the astral and or physical, as they are said to
be placed in Yesod. Not only that they tend to have black and brown auras which
correspond in symbolism to Malkuth. These symbolize the AP (yesod) and physical
(malkuth), and so a level of symbolism is the conjuring of these thought forms
or spirits to either Astral, AP (in between astral and physical) or physical
manifestation.
- An Earl and powerful prince with thirty-six legions of demons under his comman
d. Knows and can reveal all things, past,
present and future. He can make men witty and valiant...sometimes depicted as a
vulture... --- Wikipedia
- Goetic Demons are almost always associated with Yesod, which can work as can a
ny other, since the blood, nervous system
and their astral equivalents transmit or carry forces and information, and so as
tral forces and mental forces and so for
all practical purposes can work. Furthermore, they are heavily in modern times a
ssociated with sex magic, yesod, the lunar
sphere, adn more. This makes sense in the sense that in the terms of certain lev
els of symbolism certain so-called
characteristics and qualities symbolize the importance of conjuring them into th
e lower astral, also called the AP, the
level inbetween the astral and physical and so able to influence both. The sexua
l center has similar function as
sexual actions not only generate energy but they also have quite an influence on
the physical and astral bodies and the
mind if allowed to as can be seen in Reichian therapy, psychoanalysis, Tantra, e
t cetera. --- Applying them on the Yesod center would naturally lead to increase sexual pot
ency as all work on it would because
the building of energy there would lead to increased blood flow there and a thic
kness of all fluids there such as semen

and hormones, plus the mental energy would stimulate the astral counterparts whi
ch would stimulate the physical
counterparts and its constitutens resulting in better health of those organs in
and around it (coccyx, perineum, anus,
below to the navel, sexual organs - as Yesod is supposed encompass all of these
body parts and is the equivalent to the
Lower Dan Tian of the Taoists which also is associated with sexuality)
-- Thus Goetic Work like all magical work is the application of them to the Cent
ers guided by intention, and the success
comes about through the interaction of mental power and the astral and thorught
the functioning of the flow of the blood
and the nervous system and their counterparts in the bodies, such as the flow of
chi in the paths, the flow of forces
throught the matrixes to and from the bodies, et cetera
-- Thus there are different types of Goetic Work. 1) Conjuring them externally t
o cause effects 2) Conjuring them
to stimulate, grant powers to, and activate the centers such as by channeling vi
brations or their vibrations into them
3) Using their names or associations to generate corresponding vibrations of the
m on the planes and so being able
to cause corresponding effects by directing these vibrations which of course is
guided by intent 4) Ethical matters
aside you could also conjure them or thought-form versions of them and seal them
in the centers which due to them
being sealed in them and the energetic interactions would grant you the power an
d basically make them magical
batteries for you just like the Nine Tails in Naruto - this being one level of s
ymbolic meanings in stories such as
Solomon sealing entities in brass vessels and the stories of invoking entities i
nto objects
- And so for practical purposes there need be no consistency between the associa
tions of yesod nor the lunar sphere
and the goetic demons. It is up to you whether to place them all there or apply
them to any center based on the
sphere associated with the intent. For instance, for sexual matters you could ap
ply them to yesod, mental centers as
the mind governs everything, or really any depending on how you choose to work a
nd cause the effects. It is up to you.
- Furthermore, there are 72 of them and there is said to be 72,000 nadis extendi
ng from the yesod center. It is said
the 72 Angels or Names are associated with the Mercury Sphere which would be the
Da'ath Center which is basically the
center of expressive actions and so a form of creation or mental creation, hence
, creativity.
- Do not forget that raising basic energy in the centers increases their power o
r strength and their functioning. This
is the reason behind the Theosophists telling practitioners to only work on the
mental centers. For instance, working
on the sexual center would also increase its power over the mind because you are
increasing its overall power, and so such
things as its ability to send impulses or information to the mind, its productio
n and secretion of hormones and chemcials,
et cetera. This is one of the true meanings of the allegory behind the controlli
ng of the spirits lest they control you.
One thing it has to do with is for later after enough work, the practitioner use
s specific vibrations, for instance,
a specific intention, to only stimulate or influence a single or certain aspects
of the centers - for purposes of
maintaing balance if need be.

- Both a count and a prince. Can make the most shy person confident, witty and b
old. His services are highly sought after
by those who aware of his powers. Makes boring people interesting and average-mi
nded individuals seem like intellectuals.
Some who have summoned him say he is the Egyptian God Anubis. Those who want to
summon him should use dark blue candles
and sandalwood.
- Said to be able to make anyone witty, confident, and valiant
- Can give men intelligence and courage, and reveal hidden treasures - Collin de
Plancy

- Anubis was associated with mummification and the afterlife - curious as in tru
e magic mummification would involve the
influencing of the aura and internal energetic processes likely through symbols
and outerfieds, and thus can be used for instance
to cause a state of evocation
- Protector of Graves in first dynasty
- In some cases protector and guider of the dead to the underworld
- God of the dead, afterlife, funerals, embalming, mummification, et cetera
- Anubis was associated with black which for the egyptians in some cases was a c
olor of both rebirth and the discoloration of the corpse after embalming
- Jackal or dog headed god
- Protector of graves and cemeteries
- Guardian of the scales in the weighing of the heart depicted in the Book of th
e Dead, which likely symbolizes the energetic balance, i.e. the balance of
energetic development of aspects and centers of the magus in relation to the oth
ers which when sufficiently established the magus can then simply raise energy i
n the
heart center (Tifaret) which will develop the magus' entirety because he will no
t have to worry as much about imbalance and over stimulating certain centers
- Depicted as a black jackal, and recent studies have shown the egyptian jackal
is actually a subspecies of the gray wolf
- Associated with the color black which to the egyptians besides just being a co
lor of the discoloration of the corpse after embalming and of rebirth was also a
color
of fertility and the silt of the nile
- In some cases he is depicted as setting up nine bows (9 is number of moon and
yesod center)
