To Whom It May Concern:

I am grateful for your consideration of me for these internships. I am fascinated with the
power of good writing, and I have been blessed and inspired by it several times throughout
my life. I would be delighted to start a career that allows me to use the written word to
strengthen and build others.

I can write clearly and concisely, and I have some significant editing experience. I am also
enrolled in a photojournalism class, which is allowing me to learn basic photography skills
and to practice news judgment.

I work for BYUs College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences marketing team as an
assistant editor and writer. This semester I am also on the staff of the student journal
Stance: Studies on the Family, and I am helping to edit a book about the Mormon Miracle
Pageant in Manti, Utah.

Last semester I developed a love for feature writing, surprisingly enough as a sports
reporter for BYUs newspaper The Universe. Writing for BYUs newspaper afforded me the
unique opportunity of combining gospel topics with athletics, and I learned to appreciate
how unique and inspiring people are.

I love to write, and I am thankful for opportunities I have had recently to become a more
powerful and effective writer.
