A Message From Good News Press
Good News Press is an outreach publication. The Christian message is often
referred to as the "Gospel," which means
"good news." Specifically, it is the good
news about Jesuswho He is, what He
has done, and what He offers. Essentially,
the message is that Jesus was God in the
flesh, that He came into the world to
reconcile humanity to Himself, and that
his salvation is freely offered to each person who will respond in faith. The Gospel message explains that salvation is only possible through the Crucifixion and
Resurrection of Jesus. Through his sacrifice, Jesus paid the price for our sinfulness (rebellion against God), thus offering us forgiveness. Then through his Resurrection He conquered death, removing
it as the penalty for our sin and replacing
it with the offer of eternal life that is only
available from Him to all those that place
their faith in Him.

Debate - National Marriage Week Feb. 7-14, 2014
-- This week a FOX News commentary by National Marriage Week USA

marriage must be part of the current
political debate about income inequality and how to reduce poverty.

"Today 53% of all babies born to

"If we had the marriage rates today
that we had in 1970, we'd have 25%

"The decline of marriage is our most
neglected national emergency," says
Weber. "Yet the wealthy are doing a

Saeed Abedini, a 33-year-old Pastor, father,
and husband from Idaho, is currently imprisoned in Evin Prison in Tehran, Iran. On 28 July
2012, during a visit to Tehran to visit family and
to finalize the board members for an orphanage
he was building in Iran, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard detained Saeed, asserting that he
must face criminal charges for his Christian
faith. After intense interrogations, Saeed was
placed under house arrest and told to wait for a
court summons. On 26 September 2012, instead of receiving a summons telling him where
to appear, five members of the Revolutionary
Guard raided Saeeds parents home in Tehran,
confiscated many of Saeeds belongings, and
took him to an unknown location. After four
days the Revolutionary Guard informed the
family that Saeed was in solitary confinement in
the notorious Evin Prison... More of his story

Are You A Doer of the

Word? By Mark & Tinsley Baker
When you are born again, you become a new
creature. Old things are passed away and all
things have become new. You are new, your
spirit has been recreated in the image of God.
Gods nature dwells in you. Gods nature is
love. If Gods nature dwells in you, then you
are full of the love of God! We should walk
in that love, everyday! However, there is
more to being a Christian, than going around
loving everyone.
We are to do the commandments of the Lord.
James 1:22-25: "But be doers of the word, and
not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if
anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer,
he is like a man observing his natural face in a
mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and
immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty
and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer
but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed
in what he does."
James is writing to believers in this letter, not
unsaved people. He is telling them to be
blessed, they must do what the Word,
Gods Word, says. Yes, we must walk in love
toward everyone, our brothers and sisters in
Christ, as well as our enemies. Yet, we have to
do so much more. Lets look at what God said
to Joshua when he took over the leadership of
Israel, after the death of Moses.
Joshua 1:8: "This Book of the Law shall
not depart from your mouth, but you
shall meditate in it day and night, that
you may observe to do according to all
that is written in it. For then you will
make your way prosperous, and then you
will have good success."
Are you studying Gods Word? Is it a priority in
your life. Do you read it daily and meditate on,
think about, what you have read? Are you
speaking Gods Word in your life? Remember,
God tells Joshua the Word shall not depart

from his mouth, as well as telling him to meditate in it day and night, He is to speak scriptures to himself, to remind him what the Word
says.
Jesus says in
Luke 6:46,
that we are
to keep his
commandments if we
love Him.
Is God first
in your life,
or is your
job, your
family, your
car, money
Pastor Saeed Abedini
- the things
you worship? One way to tell what you actually
worship ( whether it is a good or bad worship)
is to look at your life. What do you think about,
talk about or worry about. If it is not God, then
you need to reorganize your thinking. God and
His Word should be first in your life. The
wonderful working of Jesus at Calvary
should be first in your life.
Matthew 6:31-33: ""Therefore do not
worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or
`What shall we drink?' or `What shall we
wear?' "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father
knows that you need all these things.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and
His righteousness, and all these things
shall be added to you. "Therefore do not
worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will worry about its own things. Sufficient
for the day is its own trouble."
When you are obedient to God, He will bless
you. It is as simple as that.
Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all
thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy
paths."
1 Peter 5:7: "Casting all your care upon him; for
he careth for you." Are you trusting in God
with all your heart, are you casting your cares
( worries, concerns) on Him? Or are you praying "Oh God help me, I cant make it another
day, if You dont do something."
Understand this! God has done all He can for
you! He gave His only Son to die in your place.
With that death, He purchased a new life for
you. A life full of Gods answers!
You need to study the Word and find those
answers and then claim them for yourself!
Romans 8:14: " For as many as are led by
the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God."
When you were saved, you became a child of
God! This means you have the rights and responsibility of any member of a family. It is up
to you to take advantage of these rights.
How do I do that? Go back to what God told
Joshua, read the Word, meditate on it and
dont let it depart from your mouth. Let me ask
you something - are you looking at your life and
your problems from the worlds view or Gods
view? Are you saying the worlds answers or

Praise God thats what it is all
about! The way of the spirit, the way of God, not
the way of nature or reason!
"Well, I tried that once and it
didnt work." Can you hear
yourself saying this?
There are several problems with this: You tried.
The truth is, you were tried
by the Word of God. We
have all been there.
We need to learn from our
failures as well as our successes, and then hopefully we
wont have as many failures .
Romans 10:17: "So faith
comes from what is heard,
and what is heard comes by
the preaching of Christ."
You hear the Word, the Will
or commandments of God
and you act in faith and do
them, not try them!

and not Gods!

The prophet Isaiah tells us
that Gods ways are not our
ways. Your ways are controlled by the world. And
who is the god of this world Satan, not God. So if you
think God should answer
your problems your way,
then you are asking God to
do something in a way that is
impossible for Him to do.

Does Healing Belong To Us?
By Mark and Tinsley Baker Olive Branch Ministries
The question that many Christians have today is, does healing belong to us as it did to
the early church? There are 3
basic beliefs on the subject of
healing in the modern Christian church.
Many believe healing has
been done away
with, that it was only
for the early church
and not for us today.
This is probably the
most wide spread
belief.
Many believe God does
heal as He sees fit,
or by some special
divine act, or some
special faith.
The last basic group believes healing belongs to us as part of
the atonement of
Christ in the redemptive plan of
God, along with the
remission of sins.
These are the 3 main attitudes
toward healing in the body of
Christ today. The question
becomes if the 3rd is right,
how could the 2nd be right as
well? Many Christians have
received divine healing or
know someone who did, if this
is true, why is not healing a
part of the completed work of
our Lord Jesus Christ. Does
God play favorites? Does He
heal based on His whim? Or is
He truly no respecter of Persons as His Word says He is?
Is He truly the same yesterday
today and forever?

State of Abortion Contd from Page 1

"While the most recent data indicate a decrease in the annual
number of abortions, tragically,
more than 3,000 unborn children
are still killed every day in the
United States under the legal
doctrine of Roe v. Wade and Doe
v. Bolton," said National Right to
Life President Carol Tobias. "As
we observe the 41st anniversary
of the twin decisions that legalized
abortion in America, the pro-life
movement remains committed to
restoring legal protection to unborn children and providing help
and support to their mothers."

abortions can be traced to prolife legislative efforts at the state

and federal level that have raised
awareness about the humanity of
the unborn child These laws not
only encourage life-affirming alternatives to abortion, they seek to
inform and empower women
facing unexpected pregnancy.

"Laws enacted at the federal and

state levels have helped immensely in reversing the disturbing
trend established by Roe and

"Abortion remains widely available. But after years of being told
that abortion was 'the best
choice' or 'their only choice,'
women are learning that there are
alternatives to abortion that affirm their lives and the lives of
their children," added Tobias.
"The bottom line is simple: the
right-to-life movement is succeeding because even after 41 years

children is wrong."
