Innovators Chess Academy, under the auspices of United Karnataka Chess
Association, have the honour to invite all Schools (any Syllabus) in India to
participate in the Karnataka State School Chess Championships-2014 (Under-7,
Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 & Under-17 for Open & Girls
categories) which is going to be held at Silicon City Public School at the above
mentioned dates.

Participation in Team Championship

Each School may enter upto 2 Teams in each of the age groups. The player
should be a bonafide student of a school (any syllabus). In case a girls age group is
having less than 5 Teams, then it will be merged with the Open Category of the
same age group.
Entitled to participate are players (Boys & Girls) who shall not have reached the age

7 by 1st January 2015 (date of Birth - January1st, 2008 and after) Under- 7
9 by 1st January 2015 (date of Birth - January1st, 2006 and after) Under-9
11 by 1st January 2015 (date of Birth - January1st, 2004 and after) Under-11
13 by 1st January 2015 (date of Birth - January1st, 2002 and after) Under-13
15 by 1st January 2015 (date of Birth - January1st, 2000 and after) Under-15
17 by 1st January 2015 (date of Birth - January1st, 1998 and after) Under-17

Registration & Entry Fee

Entry fee for Team Championship: Rs. 1000/- (For each Team)
Entry fee for Individual Championship: Rs. 400/- (For each participant)
The deadline for registration for the Team Championship is 29 th Sep, 2014.
The deadline for registration for the Individual Championship is 22 nd Jan,
2015.
The registration application must include the Name of Player, FIDE ID (if any),
Rating (if any), FIDE title (if any), School Name, Age, Date of birth and state.
An attested copy of Date of Birth (DOB Certificate from Panchayat/
Muncipality/Corporation within one year of birth is only valid for this purpose)
and certificate from the school stating that the player is a bonafide student of
the school are also to be attached along with application .
Schools can register their name for team championship with five players (Minimum
3 players) and matches will played over four boards.
Entries should be received on or before 29th Sep 2014, to The Secretary,
Innovators Chess Academy, 1676, Flat # 202, 20 th Main, Sector 1, HSR Layout,
Bangalore 560102 by Demand Draft in favour of Innovators Chess Academy
payable at Bangalore.
Time Control:
The time control is 25 minutes each without any increment.
Appeals Committee:
Before the commencement of the championship, a five member Appeals
Committee shall be formed by the Organizers. All the members and reserves shall
be from different Schools. No member of the Committee can vote on Dispute in

which a player from his own School is involved and in such case(s), the reserves
shall take his place in the committee. The decision of the Appeals Committee is
final and binding on players concerned.
Withdrawals
A player may withdraw from the Championship at any stage, after informing Chief
Arbiter in writing.
Team Championship:The team winners in each category are the Karnataka State Team Chess
Championship Winners for 2014. Top three Schools in each Category receive
Trophies and five members of the team will receive Medals and Merit Certificates.

Individual Championship:The winner in each open age category is the Karnataka State School Chess Champion
for 2014 and the girl in each Girls category is the Karnataka State Girl School Chess
Champions for 2014. Trophies, Medals and Merit Certificates will be given to top 3
players of each category. All players will be given certificate of participation.
The champions of each category will be sent by Innovators Chess Academy (Entry
only) to the National Schools Chess Championship 2015 (according to age restriction).

Each School may enter any number of players in each of the age groups. The player
should be a bonafide student of a school (any syllabus).
Entitled to participate are players (Boys & Girls) who shall not have reached the age
