Design a stepper motor controller and write an ALP to rotate shaft of a 4-phase
stepper motor
(i) in clockwise 5 rotations
(ii) in anti-clockwise 5 rotations
Interface a typical 8 bit DAC with 8255 and write a program to generate a
triangular wave of frequency 500 MHz. the 8086 system operates at 8MHz. The
amplitude of the triangular waves should be +5V.

With block diagram, explain salient features of 8279 1C keyboard and Display
controller. Write the CW for encoded scan key board with 2 key lock out and 8
digit display with left entry.
Interface keyboard and display controller 8279 with 8086 at address 0080h.
Write an ALP to setup 8279 in scanned keyboard mode with encoded Scan,
NKey rollover mode. Use a 16 character display in right entry display format.
Then clear the display RAM with zeroes. Read the FIFO for key closure. If any
key is closed store its code to register Ch. Then write the byte 55 to all the
displays and return to DOS. The clock input to 8279 is 2MHz, operates at
100Khz.
Design a programmable timer using 8253 and 8086. Interface 8253 at an
address 0040h for counter O and write the following Ahps 8086 and 8253 run
at 6MHz and 1.5MHz respectively.
i) To generate a square wave of period 1ms
ii) To interrupt processor after 10ms.
Describe Internal architecture of 8279.
