Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for taking your time to read through this proposal.
My name is Vidula, I am 33 years old, and I live in Pune, India. I have been to 23 countries with my
husband and I love travelling and meeting people. I am the founder of BuffyFish, which is a platform
for women to get together, explore and travel to different places, together.
I am hoping to acquire a sponsorship from you for 10 women, wanting to make a documentary film
while on the 5000 kilometers car drive, over 33days, from Mumbai, in Maharashtra, to
Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, to Kolkata in West Bengal. We will begin the journey on 1st January
2015 and it will end on 31st January 2015.
We have planned on meeting interesting women all along the coast, who will tell us interesting
stories about their lives. For example, we will be meeting a woman who handles the crocodile bank
in Tamil Nadu or we will be meeting the SheTaxi founder in Kochi, Kerala. We plan to publish their
stories/interviews in the form of a blog and a documentary film. We will have an exhibition of
photographs and documentary at the end of it. We will be making a full-fledged documentary that
will be dedicated to the sponsors.
We have already received a sponsorship from Mahindra for one Scorpio 4x4 vehicle.

What is in it for you?

This will be a real-time advertising opportunity for you. We will have stickers, banners etc. on the
car at all times.
Also, you can advertise the availability of YOUR products, throughout the route we intend to cover,
in case it tends to be a remote area, and/or one where no other companys outlet exists.
With women empowerment being on everybodys agenda, this can be your way of contributing
towards providing a safe haven for women travelers. The fact that you are going to support
something this unique will add to your brand value.
What we expect from You

Cash sponsorship, in full or part, for food and water for 10 women, for the entire drive
Cost per head per day for food & water = INR 1000
Number of days = 33
Number of women = 10
Total cost for food = 1000 x 33 x 10 = INR 3,30,000
= INR 3,50,000,000(approx.)

Cash sponsorship, in full or part, for accommodation for the entire duration of the trip.
Breakup of the cost
Cost for accommodation (per day per head) = INR 2,000
Number of days = 33
Number of women = 10
Total cost for accommodation = 2000 x 33 x 5 =INR 6,60,000

Cash sponsorship, in full or part, for tips for the hotels and restaurants that we might need to
pay along the way = INR 12,000(approx.) (500 per hotel/restaurant)
Total cost for food + tips + accommodation = 3,50,000 + 12,000 + 6,60,000
= INR 10,22,000
= Rounding it off to 10,25,000

Sponsorship for the editing for the film approx. INR 2,00,000

Sponsorship for fuel for the entire drive

For 1 car Total approximate kilometers that we expect to drive 5000kms (approx.)
Approximate fuel required is 500 litres.
Approximate cost for 500litres of fuel = 500 x 67 =43,500 =INR 70,000 (approx. with buffer)

Sponsorship for travel insurance, for 10 women, for the entire duration of the trip, i.e for 33
days. Which roughly amounts to INR 3,000 per head. Totalling to INR 30,000 for the entire
group.

Sponsorship for Breakdown assistance, including but not limited to car repairs and
maintenance, for the entire duration of 33 days, at actuals.

Cash sponsorship, in full or part, for medical kit/first aid kit

Total amount required for medical and first aid kit approx. INR 5,000
TOTAL CASH SPONSORSHIP IN FULL OR PART = 10,25,000 + 5,000 + 2,00,000 = 12,30,000
(excluding fuel & travel insurance)
If you intend to provide us cash for the fuel and travel insurance too, then the total cash
sponsorship would total upto= 10,25,000+ 5,000 + 30,000 + 2,00,000 + 70,000 = INR 13,50,000
(approx. 13,50,000 INR with buffer)
We will be utilizing this amount judiciously. After we finish with the trip, if there is any
remaining unspent amount, we will return it to You.

There are several reasons for us wanting to do this trip

- One, because we all are really passionate about travelling! We want to explore these places
together! They are extraordinary women and are enthusiastic about making this happen.

Two, because we have planned on meeting interesting women all along the coast, who will
tell us interesting stories about their lives. We plan to publish their stories in the form of a blog
and a film. We will have an exhibition of photographs and documentary at the end of it. We
will be making a full-fledged documentary that will be dedicated to the sponsors.

Three, in India, some families are averse to and apprehensive about sending their daughters on
long trips by themselves. It is safe for women to travel together and BuffyFish is a platform for
them to get together and travel together to different places.

Four, because no one has done anything like this before!
