CAMPUS RECRUITMENT TRAINING

(CRT)
WHAT IS CAMPUS RECRUITMENT TRAINING

Requirement of IT companies can be fulfilled by two different methods. In the first method, companies can
reach out to the vast pool of talent through advertisements in newspapers. In this method, the prospective
candidates approach the companies. This method may be particularly useful, if the number of job vacancies
is less. When the number of vacancies is high, this method is time consuming. The other more proactive
approach by the organization is to directly visit the campuses and recruit the candidates from those
campuses. This method is referred to as Campus Recruitment. In this method, both the organizations and
the prospective candidates come to a common platform. This common platform provides excellent
opportunities to the companies to interact with the talented students who are ever enthusiastic and
extremely motivated and who are willing to go that extra mile to prove themselves. For a student, this
system provides a smooth path to enter the job market straight from the campuses.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility :
General eligibility criterion for most companies is 60% aggregate for X, XII , UG/PG , i.e., your
average percentage score in all semesters. However, some companies like Microsoft demand a 70%
aggregate. So it is advisable to score at least above 60% right from the first semester and above 70%
if you have great ambitions. Another important criterion is that you should have no live KTs, although
a few companies may allow up to two. A handful of companies do not tolerate any KTs at all, live or
dead. So in short, avoid KTs.

The Process:
Campus placements are provided in almost all engineering colleges in India. However, the percentage
of students placed and the number of companies offering jobs may vary from college to college.
Generally, in all colleges, the average offer is around 3.3 lakh/annum for most IT companies. Below is
the whole placement procedure in general for all colleges.
The four main sections of a placement:
Introduction of the company
Aptitude test
Group Discussion (applicable for a few companies)
Interview(Technical + HR)

Aptitude Test
Aptitude tests consist of basic problems in quantitative ability, logical reasoning and verbal ability.
Google the past aptitude test question papers of the respective company, and solve those for practice.
Generally, it is seen that the questions do tend to repeat. The websitefreshersworld.com is quite
handy as it has past papers of almost all companies.
Books by RS Agrawal are good for preparation but it is not necessary to solve the entire book.
Generally, these tests are easy and just require logic to crack them.
