Terms and Conditions

General Information
1. Passengers are requested to present valid photo identification.
2. It is mandatory for all passengers to carry a valid proof of identification, including children and infants.
3. For all international flights, the only acceptable proof of identification would be a valid passport. However, for travel to and from Nepal
the following proofs of identification(other than the passport) would be accepted:
Voter's ID card issued by the Government of India /Government ID card (for Government Officials) for Adults
Birth Certificate/School ID for Children
Birth Certificate for Infants (children below 2 years/24 months as on the date of travel)
The above is applicable for Indian citizens traveling to and from Nepal. Please ensure that you check the passport/visa
requirements and restrictions applicable for citizens belonging to countries other than India.
4. All Foreign Nationals/Non-Indian Nationals/NRI need to carry their Passport with valid documents for their travel to Port Blair (Andaman
and Nicobar Island). All NRI passengers must have PIO or Passport with valid documents.
5. SpiceJet will not be liable in any way for delays/ cancellations/ diversions whether due to bad weather, government regulation or for
instances beyond SpiceJet's control. Further, SpiceJet operates on a point-to-point basis and will also not be responsible for the
consequence of delays including onward journey on a connecting mode of conveyance.
6. SpiceJet will not and does not provide hotel accommodation / meals / transportation in case of delays/ cancellations for any reason
whatsoever.
7. All new taxes/charges levied by the Government of India or any statutory body subsequent to the date of booking and applicable on the
date of travel shall be charged and payable separately.
8. SpiceJet requests that at the point of reservation the Passenger provides the airline or its Authorized Agent with a contact number (valid
mobile number) for each city in the passengers itinerary including the applicable country and area codes. Please provide your correct
mobile no. while making a booking to enable us sending information regarding any change/cancellation of your flights. This will
ensure that all information pertaining to your flight will be sent to you as an SMS/Call.
9. Itinerary printouts with the name of the passenger will be checked at the time of entering the terminal and at the check-in counter.
Passengers who do not have the same are requested to collect the printouts from the SpiceJet office located outside the departure
terminal. A charge of INR 100/- will be levied for each print of an Itinerary / Ticket from any of the SpiceJet Ticketing Counters / Offices
across India (charges not applicable for fresh bookings).This fee is applicable only on requests for a print of an existing itinerary /
ticket, already paid for. Please note the Itinerary Printout Fee towards re-printing of each Itinerary Ticket is reflected under the "Itinerary
Printout Fee - INR 100" column on the printout.
Booking
1. For Bookings made directly with travel agents a non-refundable transaction fee will be collected by them towards the booking.
2. Bookings made under Special Return Fare may be cancelled only prior to using the out bound flight. However, flight(s) may be
changed by paying a fee and the difference in fare between the original and the current available fare similar to the Regular Fare ticket.
3. My Number My Discount offer bookings are non-cancellable, non-changeable and non-refundable.
For Domestic Travel

4. For bookings made using non-Indian credit cards it is mandatory for one of the traveling passengers to be the card holder and the
credit card used when booking is to be carried to the airport for physical verification. In the absence of the credit card or identity
mismatch, passengers will not be allowed to board the flight.
For International Travel
5. Certain fares have conditions which limit or exclude the passengers right to change or cancel reservations.
6. For bookings made using non-Indian credit/Debit cards it is mandatory for one of the traveling passengers to be the card holder and
the credit/Debit card used when booking is to be carried to the airport for physical verification. In the absence of the credit /Debit card or
identity mismatch, passengers will not be allowed to board the flight.
7. Currently SpiceJet does not have provisions for accommodating stretchers, human remains and pets hence carriage of the same
for International travel is not permitted.
8. For international travel, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel.
9. The passengers travelling to UAE/Oman from India for employment/tourist purposes shall be requiring an OK to BOARD comment in
the PNR. Kindly get in touch with your visa issuing agency for the same.
For Interline Travel
10. Each airline operates its flights separately and passengers travelling on a flight operated by another airline shall be subject to terms
and conditions of the operating airline that could differ from those of SpiceJet.
11. Passengers travelling on an interline booking must clear customs and immigration, wherever applicable, and reclaimed any checked
baggage at their connecting hub before checking in for their onward flight.
12. A minimum of three hours must be allowed in order to complete such arrival and check-in formalities. Certain fares have conditions
which limit or exclude the passengers right to change or cancel reservations.
13. Infants booking can be made at a charge of INR 4,500 per infant on a one-way journey. Each infant must be accompanied by one adult
passenger. Each adult passenger at any time shall not be allowed to carry/ accompany more than one infant along with him/her.
14. Children below the age of 15 can travel only if accompanied by a passenger aged 18 or above who will take full responsibility for the
minor.
Changes and Cancellation
1. Name changes on a confirmed booking are strictly prohibited. Please ensure that the name given at the time of booking matches the
name as mentioned on the traveling passenger's valid photo ID.
2. If at the time of changes, the same booked fare is not available, any difference in fares will also be applied in addition to the change fee
plus changes to any applicable fees. All fees are subject to change without notice.
3. The balance of the original booking amount will be retained in a credit shell where the passenger may use it as payment towards
future travel by calling our Guest Sales & Reservations Center. Atleast one of the passengers booked in the original PNR (Credit Shell
PNR) should be travelling in the new PNR for future travel. The Credit Shell is refundable on request.
4. The Credit Shell can only be used by calling SpiceJets Guest Sales & Reservations department at 9871803333. The booking
reference number / PNR number needs to be quoted when utilizing the amount now available as credit with SpiceJet.
5. Bookings made under the Student discount are changeable but non-cancellable. It is mandatory to carry the valid ID card mentioned at
the time of booking for any special discount tickets; in absence of the original ID card at the time of check-in will attract a penalty of
Change fee plus applicable difference in fare.
For Domestic Travel
6. Changes to flights can be made up to one (1) hours prior to the scheduled departure time. With effect from 06th September 2013, for
all domestic sectors changes to your booking will attract a flight change fee of INR 1500 INR per person, per one way and per change.
7. Cancellations to bookings may be made up to one (1) hours prior to the scheduled departure time. With effect from 06th September
2013, for all domestic sectors cancellation to a booking will attract a fee of INR 1500 INR per person, per one way.
For International Travel
8. For International Travel changes to flights can be made up to three (3) hours prior to the scheduled departure time with the payment of
a change fee of 1850 INR or equivalent local currency of the departure country per person, per one way and per change.
9. For International travel cancellations to bookings may be made up to three (3) hours prior to the scheduled departure time for a fee of
INR 1850 INR or equivalent local currency of the departure country per person, per one way.
For Interline Travel
10. For interline travel changes and cancellations may be done up to three (3) hours prior to departure to the scheduled departure for a fee
of INR 4600 per passenger per one-way journey.
Check-in
1. It is advisable to reach the airport and check-in at the earliest possible to avoid any rush or inconvenience.
For Domestic Travel
2. SpiceJet recommends that passengers report for Check-in at least 2 hours prior to the departure of the scheduled flight. The
passenger's journey will be smoother if they allow themselves ample time to comply with the Check-in Deadlines. SpiceJet reserves
the right to cancel a passenger's reservation if they do not comply with the Check-in Deadlines indicated. SpiceJet or its Authorized
Agents will advise passengers of the Check-in Deadline.
3. Check-in closes 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of the flight. Failure to check-in within the stipulated time limit will result in
forfeiture of the ticket amount.
For International Travel

4. SpiceJet recommends that passengers report for Check-in at least 3 hours prior to the departure of the scheduled flight. The
passenger's journey will be smoother if they allow themselves ample time to comply with the Check-in Deadlines. SpiceJet reserves
the right to cancel a passenger's reservation if they do not comply with the Check-in Deadlines indicated. SpiceJet or its Authorized
Agents will advise passengers of the Check-in Deadline.
5. Check-in closes 01 hour prior to the scheduled departure of the flight. Failure to check-in within the stipulated time limit will result in
forfeiture of the ticket amount.
6. Any passenger connecting to or from SpiceJet flights from the domestic to the international route or vice versa would have to adhere to
the following:
1. SpiceJet would not be responsible for any delay due to immigration/custom clearance leading to a missed onward connection.
The passenger may have to purchase a new ticket.
2. The boarding card for the final international leg of journey would be issued only at the last departing station.
International Connecting Flights
7. For connection with International Connecting Flights the check in starts 04 hours prior to the departure and closes 60 min prior to
departure time. At the time of check-in, passenger(s) will be issued boarding card(s) only up to the point of Transit. Passenger will be
responsible for
1. Collecting baggage from the arrivals at the Transit point.
2. Transportation from arrivals of one airport terminal to departure terminal of another airport. Inter- terminal Transfer facility is
provided by Airport Operator (DIAL in Delhi)
3. Reporting at the Transit Airport to check-in for the next flight at least 120 min prior to the standard time of departure.
8. Food or lodging will not be provided at the Transit points.
Interline Flights
9. For Interline Flights the check in starts 04 hours prior to the departure and closes 60 min prior to departure time. At the time of check-in,
passenger(s) will be issued boarding card(s) only up to the connecting hub. Passenger will be responsible for
1. Collecting baggage from the arrivals at the connecting hub.
2. Transportation of baggage from arrivals of first carrier to departure terminal of onward carrier.
3. Reporting at the onward carriers check-in counter for collecting boarding pass for the onward flight at least 120 min prior to the
standard time of departure.
4. Complete all immigration formalities.
10. Food or lodging will not be provided at the connecting hub.
11. Charges for carriage of oversized baggage like sports equipment, musical and large electronics such as television sets etc. apply as
per policy of respective airlines. Passenger can refer to the respective airlines website for more detailed information.
Baggage
1. Free baggage allowance:
Hand Baggage: One piece of cabin baggage (which includes duty free shopping bags/items purchased during the course of travel) of
maximum weight of 7 kgs (maximum 115 cm in overall dimensions (L+W+H) is permitted per passenger. No cabin baggage is
allowed on flights originating from Jammu and Srinagar airports.
For Domestic Travel
Check-in Baggage: SpiceJet allows free checked baggage allowance of 15 Kgs per passenger for all domestic bookings with effect
from 09 September 2013. However, domestic bookings made until 08th September 2013 will be entitled to a free checked baggage
allowance of 20Kgs per passenger, from EX-IXJ and SXR free checked in baggage allowance is 22kgs per passenger per flight.
For International Travel
Check-in Baggage: SpiceJet allows free checked baggage allowance of 20 Kgs per passenger for International sectors. Except for
passenger traveling to and fro Dubai, the free checked baggage allowance will be 30 Kgs per adult and child, and 3kgs per Infant. For
travel to and fro Kabul and Riyadh the free checked baggage allowance will be 30kgs per adult and child and for travel to and fro
Madurai Colombo the free baggage allowance will be 30kgs per adult and child. For passenger travelling Ex- Sharjah and Muscat,
the free checked baggage allowance will be 30kgs per adult and child.
SpiceJet does not have a limit on the number of bags; however each bag must not exceed 32 kgs as per airport baggage restriction.
The dimensions of the checked baggage should not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) in overall dimensions (L+W+H). SpiceJet does not
accept responsibility for unsuitably packed, perishable, damaged or fragile baggage or for minor damage to the exterior of baggage
(e.g. scratches, stains, soling, dents) resulting from normal wear and tear or for water damage to non-waterproof baggage.
For Interline Travel
Check-in Baggage: SpiceJet allows free checked baggage allowance of 15 Kgs per passenger for Interline travel.
2. Excess Baggage:
For Domestic Travel
Excess Baggage will be charged at 250 INR per kg or equivalent local currency per flight for Domestic travel.

For Domestic flights, Excess baggage can be purchased online, at airports and via guest sales and reservation center atleast 12
hours prior from the flight departure as per pre-paid excess baggage slabs: 3kg: Rs. 600, 5kg: Rs. 1000; 10 kg: Rs. 2100, 15 kg:
Rs.3300. Pre Purchase Baggage once purchased cannot be cancelled in standalone or used partially. (For e.g. if bought 5 Kgs and
does not want to carry any excess baggage then same is non-cancellable OR bought 5 Kgs and excess baggage is 4 kg then
remaining 1 kg is non-transferable/non-refundable/ non-reusable.
For International Travel
For International travel(except Kathmandu and Colombo), excess baggage will be charged at 500 INR per kg or equivalent local
currency per one-way journey, except Ex Guangzhou excess baggage will be charged at 75 CNY per kg. For Kathmandu and Colombo
excess baggage will be charged at 200 INR per kg or equivalent local currency per flight.
For Interline Travel
For interline travel, excess baggage charges would be as per the respective airlines applicable excess baggage policy, and would be
payable at the respective airlines check-in counter at the time of travel.

3. International Connections
1. Passenger travelling on SpiceJet domestic sector to SpiceJet international sector or vice versa the Free Baggage Allowance of
International sector will be applicable.
2. Passenger travelling on SpiceJet domestic Sector and having connection on another airline to/from an international destination,
Free Baggage Allowance as permitted by the International Carrier will be given maximum up to 30kgs, provided:
a. Free Baggage Allowance must be reflected on the itinerary of International Flight;
b. The above allowance would be applicable for Adult/Child bookings. Infant bookings do not qualify for the allowance.
4. Any Baggage weight exceeding 30 Kgs would be charged the applicable excess baggage charges.
5. SpiceJet assumes no liability for fragile or perishable articles. The airline assumes no liability for wear and tear to luggage (scratches,
torn zippers, straps, wheels, handles, scuffs, dents, soiling or manufacturing defects).
6. It is recommended that all valuables (e.g. camera, jewelry, cash, electronics, perishables items, etc.) and medication shall be carried
in cabin baggage. SpiceJet assumes no responsibility for any pilferage/ damage to valuables incase they are carried in check-in
baggage and the passenger shall be doing so at their sole risk and consequences
7. SpiceJet's liability for loss of baggage is limited to Rs.200 per kg subject to maximum of Rs.3000 only (or equivalent local currency of
the departure country).
8. Excess baggage charges to be paid in USD at Male International Airport.
Special Assistance
1. Expectant mothers may travel up to and including 27th week of pregnancy. Fit to fly certificate from a medical practitioner will be
required in case an expectant mother is flying with SpiceJet during 28 to 35 weeks of pregnancy. Expectant mothers who have
completed 36 weeks and above are not allowed to travel with SpiceJet. For interline travel expectant mothers can travel up to 34th week
with a Fit to fly certificate from a medical practitioner.
2. Passengers requiring wheelchair assistance, stretcher, passengers traveling with infants and Unaccompanied Minors need to be
booked in advance since the inventory for these special service requests are limited per flight. Please call SpiceJet's Guest Sales and
Reservations numbers for further assistance.
