BBUB cabinet is standard 19 and 3U cabinet. Its dimension is
482.6 mm (W) 130.5 mm (H) 330 mm (D), and is 15 kg in
full configurat6ion.
The appearance of the BBUB cabinet is as shown in Figure 1.

Structure
BBUB cabinet consists of shell, guide rail and backplane, as
shown in Figure 2.

Chapter 2 Boards/Modules
CCI Board
The full name of CCI is Control & Clock & Interface Board. It is
the core board of BBUB. It implements such functions as system
control, Ethernet data switch, IQ data switch, clock signal
processing, Iub interface data processing, RRU interface data
processing and environment monitoring.
Panel
The panel of the CCI board is as shown in Figure 5. The
interfaces, buttons and LED indicators are as shown in Table 4.

Hot-plugging
CCI board supports the hot-plugging.
BP Board
BP is short for Node B Baseband Processing Board. It takes
charge of the baseband processing functions defined by 3GPP.
BP, BPH and BPHX are all BP-family boards. They have same
function but different capability. If not specified, all BP in the
context refers to BP-family board.
Panel
The panel of the BP board is as shown in Figure 6. The buttons
and LED indicators are as shown in Table 6

Panel
The panel of the FNB board is as shown in Figure 7. On the panel,
one interface is provided to connect the dedicated cable and
provide the external trunk-node signal and fast Ethernet signal.

AC Power Cable
Purpose
The AC power cable is configured when the system uses AC
power supply. It leads external AC power supply to BPWC.
Appearance
AC power supply cable is 3 0.75 mm2 3-core cable, as shown
in Figure 15.

The AC power cable is connected from the power distribution box
to BPWC.
BPWA/BPWC Cable
Purpose
The BPWA/BPWC cable provides DC for BPWA (output by BPWC).
Appearance
The appearance of BPWA/BPWC cable is as shown in Figure 16.

Cable Connection
The BPWA/BPWC cable is connected from the BPWC DC power
distribution box to the BPWA DC power input.
DC Power Cable
Purpose
The DC power cable is configured when the system uses -48 V
DC power supply. It leads external -48V DC power supply to
BBUB.
Appearance
-48 V DC power cable is a 2-core 1 mm2 polyvinyl chloride jacket
power supply. -48 V power cable (blue) and the grounding cable
(black) are required. The appearance of the DC power cable is as
shown in Figure 17. D-model plug lies at End B (BBUB end).

Cable Connection
The cable is connected from the external -48 V power to BPWA.
PE Cable
Purpose
The PE cable is to ensure the reliable grounding of BBUB.
Appearance
The PE cable is a 16 mm2 yellow and green cable. Both ends are
with TNR terminals (lugs). The appearance of the PE cable is as
shown in Figure 18.

The PE cable is connected from the grounding bar to the
marked terminal of BBUB.
75 E1/E3 Cable
Purpose
The 75 E1/E3 cable is used to connect BBUB with RNC or other
BBUB.
Appearance
The appearance of E1/E3 cable is as shown in Figure 19. The
connector at End B is DB36.

Cable Connection
The 75 cable is connected from the E1 lightning arrester to
the E1 interface on BBUB ETTH port.
Appearance
The appearance of the 120 E1/100 T1 cable is as shown in

The 120 E1/100 T1 cable is connected from the E1/T1
lightening protector to the E1/T1 ports on ETTB.

Cable Connection
The external cable is connected from the external Ethernet
equipment, trunk node or RS232/RS485 serial equipment to FNB.
GPS Feeder
Purpose
The GPS feeder leads signal from GPS antenna to BBUB.
Appearance
The appearance of the GPS feeder is as shown in Figure 22. The
connector at End B is SMA coaxial cable male connector. The
connector at End A is N-model coaxial cable female connector.

Cable Connection
From GPS antenna to the GPS interface on CCI board.
Fiber Cable
Purpose
The fiber cable is the physical medium in Iub or RRU interface.
Appearance
The appearance of the fiber cable appearance of Iub
interface/cascaded Node B is as shown in Figure 23. The
connectors at End A and End B are both LC-model optical
connector (IEC874).

Iub interface/Node B cascading fiber cable is from ODF to OF1
and OF2 on CCI board.
RRU fiber cable is from RRU to R11 ~ R16 interface on CCI
board.

in Figure 25. Both ends are DB26 male connector.

board of two BBUB.

The BITS clock cable is a 50 coaxial cable. The appearance of
the BITS clock cable is as shown in Figure 26. At End B, the
connector is CC4 male coaxial cable connector.
