DIGITAL VIDEO INTEGRATION WITH

GMS DVR MODULE 10.1

'True High Level Integration with many of todays
leading manufacturers'

GMS
Graphical Management System

OVERVIEW
Pacoms range of intelligent digital video interfaces adds another dimension to integrated alarm management. Intuitive video verification
can be accomplished from the convenience of any GMS workstation while an operator is monitoring the system and responding to alarm
conditions.
Immediate access to video in response to an event is fast and efficient, and can be configured to occur on any alarm or access control
event. When actioning events from a GMS configured for use with one of the many supported video interfaces, the operator will receive
the associated video clip, an interactive site map, a site transaction log, alarm instructions, and be able to select from a range of operator
actions. The Google Map corresponding to the site location can also be displayed.
Greater integration is possible with some video manufacturers by having an optional High Level Interface between the DVR / NVR and
Pacom Field Controller. This enables data and commands to be passed back and forth between the two field devices. For example, the
Pacom Field Controller could report a hard drive failure to the GMS and also treat motion detection alarms as standard intrusion events.
Conversely, recording can be activated by the Field Controller if a specific alarm or access control event occurs. All of this can be achieved
without messy (relay) wiring and without being dependent on a host application.
As of GMS v4.06, a separate DVR Module has been introduced. This DVR Module has been designed to be as independent from GMS as
possible, allowing the support of new DVR types without having to change anything in GMS. As the result of this separation, new versions
of the DVR Module can be released on an on demand basis, without having to wait for the next GMS release, and not having any impact
on GMS releases.

FEATURES
Stream live video to the GMS workstation by clicking an interactive camera icon.
Automatic live and/or recorded video displayed when actioning events enables simple verification and reduction of false alarm call outs.
Easily link cameras to events such as alarm activations and card access transactions.

*1 Pacom has no responsibility on the accuracy of the information provided by DVR manufacturers. Please contact
the relevant DVR manufacturer for confirmation of models and variants compatible with their SDK version
indicated.
*2 If PTZ presets are used, they must be configured through DVR software, and not through GMS.
*3 Not all March Networks DVRs support two-way audio. Please refer to appropriate DVR manual supplied by March
Networks.
*4 Files are stored in the Dedicated Micros proprietary format (*.DMI). Please use the software supplied with
Dedicated Micros DVR to view the files.
*5 No password support through GMS. Lanex software is password protected when accessing from outside GMS.
*6 The DM HLI with the Pacom field controller requires a CCO1A module which can be purchased from DM.
* 7 Bosch VIP-X model needs an external hard disk drive (HDD) for recorded video.
* 8 A prerequisite for running the Dallmeier DVR interface is that the Dallmeier Pview software is already installed. If
this software is not installed, finish the GMS installer, install PView, and run the GMS installer again.
* 9 During installation, the GMS installer will request the Pathname & Parameter information for the Mirasys
Application. The default pathname information will be filled in automatically, but the parameter information will
default to the following:
-c workstation.xml -s 127.0.0.1
Please replace the "127.0.0.1" IP address with the IP address of the Mirasys DVR. This IP address will be used only
when loading the "Mirasys N Workstation Application" from the GMS menu.
If the IP address of the Mirasys DVR is unknown, then it can be changed later by running the GMS installer again, or
manually editing the local GMS32.INI configuration file.
* 10 For FTP-downloadable run-time DVR types, un-selecting that DVR type during the DVRs Module upgrade does
not completely remove the run-time files. Use Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs to completely remove the
run-time files associated with these DVRs.
* 11 Prior to installing the DVRs Module, DVTel SDK must be installed on that PC, by running DVTel 'manufacturer'
installer and selecting the "SDK" option.
* 12 Decoders for H.264, MPEG-4 and AAC must be installed separately to support other cameras.
