any correspondence between Justin Rector and James Rector. Detectives believe
James Rector is in possession ofletters sent to him by Justin Rector which include
evidence related to the Murder of Isabella Grogan.

in the City of Bullhead City, County of Mohave, State ofArizona, there is now being
possessed or concealed certain person(s), property or things described as letters or
correspondence between Justin Rector and James Rector. Detectives believe James
Rector is in possession of letters sent to him by Justin Rector which include evidence
related to the Murderof Isabella Grogan.

That the following facts establish probable cause for believing that the grounds for the
issuance ofa search warrant for the aforementioned items exists:
PROBABLE CAUSE:

On September 2, 2014 an eight year old child identified as Isabella Grogan was

reported as missing from her residence. Isabella was later found in ashallow Grave
after being murdered. During the investigation Detectives found evidence that afamily
friend identified as Justin Rector vsas responsible for the Murder and was arrested.

After the arrest ofJustin Rector a Subpoena was issued requesting copies ofall

conversations and phone calls made by Justin Rector from the Mohave County Jail in
Kingman, Arizona.

On December 1, 2014 your Affiant received acopy of one phoneoajLThd phone call
was made on November 14, 2014 to the phone number

phone calls Detectives knew this phone number belonged to Justin Rector's father

identified as James Rector. Detectives have also heard numerous phone calls between
James and Justin Rector and were able to identify the voice ofJames Rector.

During the phone call Justin Rector advises James Rector that he no longer wishes to
speak to him on the telephone and does not want James Rector to visit him. Justin
Rector also claims he is upset because James Rector spoke to his Attorney. James
Rector stated "Oh the letter you sent me that you said you killed that little girl". Justin

Rector replied "yea" James Rector explained that Justin Rector should not make those

comments.

Jam., Rector currently lives and receives mail BhHI Bullhead City; Mohave
County; Arizona with his Girlfriend Pamela Pokorny.

Your Affiant prays this Search warrant is granted to obtain the letter sent to James
Rector by Justin Rector which contains evidence of aMurder. Your Affiant believes

additional letters may be located which also contain evidence of Murder.

OFFICER'S EXPERIENCE

Your Affiant has been a certified sworn peace officer in Mohave County Arizona since
1998. Your Affiant is currently employed by the Bullhead City Police Department as a

Detective assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations since 2011. Your Affiant
has formal training and experience in the investigation of criminal activity from such

agencies as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Arizona Department of Public Safety,

Mohave County Sheriff's Department, Bullhead City Police Department, Arizona POST,
US Drug Enforcement Agency and El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC).

Affiant believes that the following information demonstrates good cause, pursuant to
A.R.S. Section 13-3917 for permitting this warrant to be served at any time of the day or
night: Requesting DayTime search warrant.

Wherefore affiant prays that asearch warrant be issued commanding that an immediate

search be made for the person, property orthings herein described, ofthe persons,

premises and building, and vehicles described, and that the same be arrested, or
retained in the custody ofaffiant or in the custody ofthe agency which affiant

represents and disposed ofaccording to law, pursuant to A.R.S. Section 13-3920.
