Committee Meeting Minutes

January 20, 2010

Present: Rick, Bob, Mike, Chris, Carrie, Pam, Nancy and Brett

SCOUTMASTER REPORT-Rick
Court of Honor. Next Monday, January 25 Court of Honor at Courtade we need to get the word
out to have as many as possible attend this Court of Honor. Carrie will coordinate what has
been earned. Bill Ewing will be there for a Friends of Scouting presentation. We have two boys
that need Board of Reviews before Mondays Court of Honor. Bob, Brett, Mike, Pam and Carrie
have agreed to come to the Court of Honor early to do the Boards of Review.

Polar Bear. Went well, decent turnout. 14 scouts and 7 adults which included 3 Webelos from
Pack 115.

Jack Frost February 6. Four scouts are planning to attend. Andrew Selby to get a head count if
there are any more scouts interested. Rick is to have the numbers in to the office by the 22 nd.
Attending the Jack Frost Klondike Derby will go toward earning a ribbon for the special 100th
anniversary patch. Rick is coordinating this event.

Oleson Island. February 12-14,2010. Rick has reserved the island. Sean and Brett are
coordinating this event.

Cross-Overs. Pack 115’s crossover is scheduled for February 25. Pack 103 has not yet
determined a date for their crossover.

August High Adventure Trip. Scheduled for the first week in August. We need to make a
decision soon on location.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY REPORT-Bob

Pictured Rocks Reservations are in. They do a lottery for the campsites. Should hear soon if we
got the sites we wanted. Reservations for June 17 -22. Site limited to 20.

Polar Bear. 14 scouts and 7 adults attended. Polar Bear patches to be handed out at Court of
Honor.

Olseon Island. Bob to get the tour permit filled out.

Gaylord Lock In. Rick to get head count at Court of Honor.

Air Zoo. April 10. Reservations are in. Eleven scouts are confirmed with 1 maybe. Eight adults
plus family members are planning to attend. Will get together with those attending and decide
if they want to make it an overnight event or round trip. The boys attending will be earning
their Space Exploration Merit Badge. Next year they are offering the Aviation Merit Badge.
May want to look into this as a yearly event.

FINANCIAL REPORT-Mike
$6200 in checking
$500 in the account at the scout office
$700 approximate cost for re-chartering

ADVANCEMENT REPORT-Carrie
Since our last meeting the scouts have earned the following:
10 merit badges
5 rank advancements

NEW BUSINESS
Brett attended the Round Table…
The scout office is now open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Starting in 2010 the rank advancement badges will have 2010 on them
February 13 Camp Greilick is have an Ice Fishing Derby
OA elections to be held on April 12

Gym. Rick will talk with the principal of Courtade about our use of the gym during meetings.

Next Committee Meeting is scheduled for Feruary 17, 2010.
