Introduction
Web-based system for monitoring and controlling ComAp
controllers
WebSupervisor is a web-based system designed for monitoring and controlling ComAp controllers
over the internet. This system offers a number of benefits that help optimize revenue for machinery
fleets, as each piece of equipment can be individually monitored for all important operation values.
The system works when the controller sends regular updates to a remote secure server which then
safely stores the information ready for users to view. Any registered user can easily access the server
through an internet-enabled device such as a PC, netbook or even a smartphone, which allows one to
monitor equipment at any time in any place.
The system provides a high level of administration and security, with the central administrator able to
determine the users access rights for specific equipment within the fleet as well as appropriate
information. In addition, event-generated emails can be created and sent to specific users to provide
fast and efficient notifications to improve decision-making or react to additional revenue generating
opportunities.
The WebSupervisor offers equipment owners a number of powerful reporting tools, allowing monthly
summaries of the availability and revenue creation that ensure that maintenance scheduling and asset
utilization can be maximized for individual equipment and the whole fleet. The information generated
from each controller can be archived for future analysis and the evaluation of trends.

Getting started
Language support
The WebSupervisor interface is available in several languages.

The required language for WebSupervisor pages (WSV interface) should be selected either on the
Login Page (when using it for the first time) or in the Configuration (How can I edit existing
users?). This is the language in which the user communicates with WebSupervisor.
Example Chinese as a language for WSV interface

Values from the controller are available in any language that could be configured in the controller. The
required language should be selected in the controller configuration, see the chapter How can I edit
existing gen-sets and engines? This is the language in which values from controller are displayed.
Example Chinese as a language for controller values, English as a language for WSV interface

Example - Different units can be set differently

Security
SSL
For added security of your data as it is being transmitted, a secure connection by means of SSL can
be used. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a set of cryptographic protocols providing communications
security over the Internet.
To use SSL, direct your browser to this address:
https://websupervisor.comap.cz/

To change the level of security you can also use the login page.

Click to start using a secure

connection

Click to start using a standard

connection

Internet Explorer security issue when using SSL

If the SSL connection is selected, all customer information is encrypted with SSL. Only the maps are
not encrypted and therefore Internet Explorer notifies the user of this. If this dialog appears in Internet
Explorer, select NO.

User Comments

What is a User Comment?

For evidence of notes for each unit, user comments are available. These can contain short texts.
Comments are stored in turn for each unit. The item can be selected as active or non-active.
When entering a comment, WebSupervisor saves the text, the user who saved it, and the date and
time.

How can I add a User Comment?

User comments can be added on the page Detail view, see the chapter Detail view.
If the comment is added, it is automatically selected as active. Only the most recent comment can be
selected as active. Users can deactivate the comments. The state of comments is represented by the
color. Active comments are shown in yellow.

History Definition
WebSupervisor stores values automatically in two ways. For the values for which history is available,
see article 3 . History is saved with a period of one hour. Depending on the type of account, the
history can go 2 years back (Premium account) or 1 month back (Free account).

The controller is automatically adjusted to keep the values each hour. These values are
saved into WebSupervisors history afterwards. The time format should be like 09:00:00.

neighboring points are not connected.

Text values in a chart

Text values in a chart for possibility to display are converted to numeric values. Each state of the value
is assigned to a unique number. The assignment is displayed in the upper left corner of the chart. The
chart then shows a numerical variable, and each point corresponds to state of text value.
Example:
Number 11 means that Unit engine state is Soft unld at the appropriate time. Number 13 means that
at the time, the unit has an Engine state Cooling.

LOCATE, GPS
WebSupervisor can show the units position on a map according to information from the GSM network
(IL-NT-GPRS) or directly from a GPS chip (IB-NT). If you have unit so equipped, activate this function
in Configuration. (See the chapter How can I edit existing gen-sets and engines?)

If a Unit supports LOCATE:

A) You can see the current position on the Detail view page.

B) The position is stored in the history every 2 minutes

C) You can see a map with the previous position in History. For more info, see the chapter Map
History of position

If the position temporarily could not be read from the unit,

is displayed around the icon.

LOCATE via GSM network

LOCATE with an IL-NT-GPRS module is supported with most GSM operators around the world.

Report name Name that has to be used in .xlsx template

For example, the name for the same value could be different across several controllers, but the report
name is always the same.

Creating an .XLSx template

Templates used in WebSupervisor must be created in Microsoft Excel 2010 and later with the format
.xlsx. By using special formulas, you can define cells that will be filled in by the WebSupervisor server
with values from the controller.
Formulas
WebSupervisor will fill cells containing [ ] brackets with appropriate values. All other cells remain
unchanged. Each formula consists of multiple commands separated by |.
Meaning of commands:
D = fill values down
R = fill values to the right
Units = use all units associated with account
thisMonth = use values for the current month
lastMonth = use values for previous month
oneHour = a period of one hour
Available formulas
Formulas which are applicable can be used as follows:
[Units|TimeStamp|thisMonth|oneHour|D]
- Fills for all units the time stamps for the current month in a one-hour interval
listed down
[Units|TimeStamp|thisMonth|oneHour|R]
- Fills for all units the time stamps for the current month in a one-hour interval
listed to the right

[Units|TotalkWh|thisMonth|oneHour|D]
- Fills for all units TotalkWh value for the current month in a one-hour interval
listed down
[Units|TotalkWh|thisMonth|oneHour|R]
- Fills for all units TotalkWh value for the current month in a one-hour interval
listed to the right
Instead of TotalkWh you can use any other value mentioned in the chapter Administration of
templates, step 4.
[Units|Name|R]
- Fills names for all units listed to the right
[Units|Name|D]
- Fills names for all units listed down
[ThisMonth|Name]
- Fills the number of the current month

Format
WebSupervisor does not change any format set in any list in the spreadsheet.

WebControl
To control multiple units, click on WebControl in the main menu.

WebControl configuration
Controlling multiple units simultaneously is only available for units equipped with Remote Switches
(e.g. IG-NTC-BB, IS-NTC-BB). WebSupervisor adjusts RemoteControl8, so the controller should be
updated to accept it. Unit control is functional if all conditions are satisfied:
.
1. Controller should be in AUT mode and Ready To Start
2. RemoteControl8 should be mapped to LBI Rem start/stop via GenConfig. If there is a need to
remotely start or stop the unit from another source, it is possible to define proper logic in PLC
Editor.

3. The correct password is entered in Configuration of the unit in the field Controller Password.
4. The account should be a Premium one.
5. At least one WebControl group is defined. See the chapter How can I set up a new unit
group?

Use of WebControl
First of all it is necessary to define which units will be included in management. Create a new group for
