IMAGING
DESCRIPTION:
A photoshoot containing the rule of thirds and
leading lines.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Adobe Photoshop
OBJECTIVE:
My objectice was to create beautiful and appealing
photographs that contained the rule of thirds and leading lines.
PROCESS:
I found a model and ventured out to an area around
Heise Hot Springs. I used only natural lighting on
this shoot. Once the images were on the computer
I opened them in Camera Raw and increased the vibrance. Then in Photoshop I simply added sharpness to
the eyes, and created a rembrant.by copying the background and added a multiply filter. After that I created a
selection and deleted the center. Then I turned down
the opacity of the layer.

MONTAGE
DESCRIPTION:
A spiritual montage made by blending images
and the use of typography.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Adobe Photoshop
OBJECTIVE:
My objective was to create a
montage that spoke louder than the words that
were associated with it.
PROCESS:
I began by taking a photograph of my moms
hands. I then, opened the image in Photoshop.
Once I opened it I applied a black and white filter
to the image. Following that I found an image of
cherry blossoms and branches and thought itd
be perfect for growth within the hands. I added
this image into my original image by using a
layer mask Afterwards, using the same technique
I added a clock, couple, and a sailboat in a storm.
After the imaging was done, I added my text. I
used different weights and opacities to create a
flow and focal point in the word grows.

BROCHURE
DESCRIPTION:
A brochure created to explain the mission of Last
Chance Photography.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Photoshop
OBJECTIVE:
My objective was to create an
appealing brochure for my photography business
to get people excited about documenting their
lives through photography.
PROCESS:
I started by creating a paper mock up of what
kind of fold I wanted and such. Then I opened an
InDesign document and measured out the area
for each side. Then I used Photoshop to create
different effects on a couple of images I had
taken. I also created a logo in Adobe Illustrator.
After all of this I began creating my design. I
wanted the inside to have a wooden background.
Although I used texture I think it is subtle enough
that it still can be considered white space. I also
created all the trees and boxes within Indesign.

EVENT AD
DESCRIPTION:
An event ad for Race For the Cure.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator
OBJECTIVE:
My objective was to create a event ad that
through the graphics explained what the actual
event is.
PROCESS:
I stated by sketching out my ideas. Then I created
the Idaho shape using the pen tool. After I added
the road by using the line tool. I, then, traced the
Susan G. Komen ribbon logo with the pen tool. I
then added it to my project and deleted the
center by using the shape builder tool. After I
added my typography I realized the background
needed something. I found a asphalt texture that I
liiked and added it to the project.

LETTERHEAD
DESCRIPTION:
Create a letterhead that contained a personal logo
and consistant design with business cards.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe InDesign
OBJECTIVE:
My objective was to create a fun crafty letterhead
that would still allow my writing to be legible.
PROCESS:
I started with my logo, the W. Using the pen tool
I drew a W and then added a dandelion on top.
To create the look I wanted I used the line width
tool. After this I used the Ellipse Shape Tool to create three circles on all the corner of my
stationary to add interest to my logo. I created
more dandelions as a water mark on my
stationery. The rest was made just with the text
tool.

Create a business card that contained a personal
logo and consistant design with business cards.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe InDesign
OBJECTIVE: My object was to create matching
business cards to my letterhead that are fun and
crafty.
PROCESS:
I used the Ellipse Shape Tool to great three circles
on all the corner of my business cards to draw
attention to my logo. I , then, had my business
name going up the opposite side to create
diagonal balance. Then I typed in my information.
In the background I used the same shape of a
dandelion to create a watermark in the
background.

FLIER
DESCRIPTION:
A black and white flier based on a Graduate
Leadership Conference.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Adobe InDesign
OBJECTIVE: My objective was to create an
interesting flier using the images and text I was given.
PROCESS:
I started by creating about six sketches of
possible designs. Then I used InDesign to create my
flier. I started by creating a black rectangle on the
left hand side with the rectangle tool. After I created
circles with the ellipse frame tool. Within the circles I
added a picture and the logo. Next I elongated the D
by adding a rectangle the same width to the tail. I extended the idea of a line from A in order to create the
subtitle for my body copy. I added stroked to each of
the circles. I made sure to include alignment throughout the whole flier. Something is always aligned with
another piece. To create unity or gestalt in the flier I
added a circle with the logo to the base of the flier.
As I met with Brother Kerr and the rest of my critique
family I began to realize how important the little
things I had missed were. I also simplified the group of
circles at top to help create a more
visually appealing repetition to the flier as a whole.

WEB PAGE
DESCRIPTION:
A web page to showcase a personally created
logo.
PROGRAM(S)/TOOLS:
Notepad++
HTML
CSS
Adobe Illustrator
OBJECTIVE: My objective was to create a unique
webpage using HTML and CSS.
PROCESS:
To create my web page I used Notepad++. I
created a HTML document and then linked a
pre-made CSS document. Within CSS I changed
the color of my text to match my logo. In order
to do this I opened my logo in Photoshop and
used the eyedropper tool to find my colors. I then
grabbed the hex color number and placed it in
my CSS document. I also changed my fonts to
Georgia and Century Gothic. Outside of
Notepad++ I used Adobe Illustrator to create the
arrows and make a pattern to use as the
background for my web page.

LumoPro Flash
Adobe Photoshop/Camera RAW
OBJECTIVE:
My objective is to create appealing and natural
images of my subjects.
PROCESS:
Each time I take photographs I like to learn a little
bit about my subject beforehand. I try to capture
a little of them in each photo. I enjoy using natural
light as much as possible, but I do use a LumoPro,
off-camera flash when necessary.
