Congratulations! Welcome to the OptiTex community.

You are now participating in an important part of OptiTex implementation – Training!

OptiTex software and training will provide you with the tools and techniques to use the most advanced 2D pattern to 3D modeling technology. You will improve your productivity, accuracy and communication in your design and production work flow. Training wil l also introduce to you the planning steps required to fully implement and integrate OptiTex data into your department’s document and pattern management systems.

Intro to Windows

Basic Lesson 1

  • 1. mouse buttons, Rightclick - options, Leftclick, Wheel, wheel click

  • 2. Windows Explorer, files and folders, create folder, search file, copy ,move

  • 3. basic windows minimize, maximize, close, task bar

  • 4. Basic windows Copy/Paste

Introduction to PDS

  • 1. Open File (Importing files, see later in lesson)

  • 2. Save File

  • 3. Save As

  • 4. Open Backup

Working Environment

  • 1. Menus

  • 2. Toolbars - drag, dock, move, close, display hide, logic

  • 3. Piece Bar - Select, view name, page up/down, reorder.

  • 4. Piece List - use piece to show how work with internal windows (like grading), docking , floating, click Ctrl to Undock, close open, view menu

  • 5. Working area

  • 6. Rulers

  • 7. Delete and display

  • 8. Zooming - mouse wheel , home, shift home, mouse wheel button

  • 9. Status bar, sew line/cut line , tool info , piece protected/locked , working unit

Basic Lesson 2

Anatomy of piece - (Open Training Pattern.PDS)

  • 1. Point type , grade curve

  • 2. Pleat, mirror line, darts drill hole, notch , lines

  • 3. internal vs external -

  • 4. seam/Cut - F5

main contour of piece, vs internal line (drawn outside)

  • 5. Display attribute -F10 - contour and global , color

Selecting Pieces, Points, Internals, Darts, Buttons

  • 1. pick select tool , using icon/END key, Right click, select tool

  • 2. Snap - hover over element , colored Red

  • 3. select piece

  • 4. select element - selection point, internal line, dart , drill hole, circle,text

  • 5. difference between select piece and select internals/points

  • 6. select multiple point - using shift not drag (unless advanced user)

  • 7. select multiple piece - using shift , bound box, piece bar

  • 8. Move piece - with space bar only (no mouse drag)- and icon

  • 9. move internal - Crtl+space , and icon

    • 10. delete internal/point

    • 11. locked piece

    • 12. Save placement
