Victory in Paris for Savary

21-year-old Brian Savary from Rouen has secured a seat at the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2015 Grand Final
after winning the France Live Qualification event held in Paris.
Its been a really good day, said a very satisfied Savary in a post-match interview with FIFA.com. I was really
excited when I got here because there were top, top players here like Bruce [Grannec], so its amazing to have
won here today.
Road to the final
Savary enjoyed a smooth start to his day by receiving an automatic semi-final birth after his quarterfinal opponent
failed to make it to the event. His second match of the day however, was one most gamers would fear, a
showdown with two-time FIWC champion Bruce The Machine Grannec.
Savary drew first blood against Bruce in the opening half and doubled his advantage early into the second.
Grannec pulled a goal back after 73 minutes but his opponent kept his cool and slotted home a third just four
minutes later. I know that I have the quality to compete with the best but with Bruce its always difficult, said
Savary after the game. But I had luck on my side today. I played my style of football, feeling the game more than
overthinking it and I won, so its great!
The final
18-year-old Hicham Benfreha from Benfeld defeated Yannick Thuraisingam by two goals to nil in the semi-finals
to secure his place in the final match of the day. After a handshake, the match got underway to determine which of
the two players would win a trip to Munich for the Grand Final. Just as he had done against Bruce, Brian took
control of the match with a goal in the first half. Hicham failed to pull his team level before the break and the
increased pressure of the second half provided Savary with the opportunity to score a second without reply.
I think the final against Hicham was the more difficult match today, said the winner, he missed one big
opportunity to level the game 1-1. I was really lucky he missed that. It was very, very intense until the end.
Next stop Munich!

France's live event champion for FIWC 2015 will be attending his very first Grand Final, a prospect he is relishing.
Its my first Grand Final but I have played in other live tournaments, he said. Of course it will be different
because its the FIWC. The Ballon dOr is a really big motivation to win. I dont know how I will feel in Munich, but
we will see.
