A Word from your Co-directors

Being on the Womens Council means a lot to me because it allows me to
be involved with other women in the church. It gives me the chance to be
able to help and serve others. It gives me the opportunity to learn and
grow in my walk with Jesus. I can say this much, it is a great learning
experience for me to be able to serve God.
Char Brown
I believe the role of the Womens Council should not only focus on the
women who attend our church, but also reach out to women in our surrounding community. I am excited to adopt a cause together as the Ladies of South Flint Nazarene and make a difference in the lives of women
in our community. To me Womens Ministry is about being a fraternity
of sisters coming together to support and encourage one another in ways
that only other women can do. I am excited to hear what ideas the other
women in our church have for ways that we can show the love of Christ
to each other and the community outside our doors.

Card Making Party

On April 11th we will be getting together in the fellowship hall starting
at 11 am and making homemade greeting cards. They will be generic
cards with pretty designs on the outside but blank inside so they can be
used for any occasion. When we have finished we will be packaging the
cards in bundles of 5 and selling them for $10 each.
The proceeds from this fund raiser will be used to help cover the cost of
the Womens Spring Retreat for those who are unable to pay and would
otherwise be unable to go.
I hope that you will join us. We will be providing a lunch of grinders and
chips. If you wish to bring something to share you are more than welcome. A dessert will also be provided.

Blind from the age of six weeks, Crosby said of her blindness, It seemed intended by the blessed providence
of God that I should be blind all my life, and I thank him for the dispensation. If perfect earthly sight were
offered me tomorrow I would not accept it. I might not have sung hymns to the praise of God if I had been
distracted by the beautiful and interesting things about me.
Many of her hymns are still loved and sung in American churches and around the world. In 1975 Crosby was
inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. She has been known as the Queen of Gospel Song Writers.
One of her most love hymns is Blessed Assurance. Crosby said, "My friend, Mrs. Joseph F. Knapp, composed
a melody and played it over to me two or three times on the piano. She then asked what it said. I replied,
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
NO CUPS
Leonardo da Vinci has just completed his masterpiece, "The Last Supper." Inviting a friend to
view it, the friend stood silently in awe. Then he commented, "Those cups--what exquisite
workmanship, what delicate color!" The great artist answered, "I don't want you to see the
cups." I want you to see the Christ." And with a stroke of his brush he wiped out the cups.
There are no cups in the great painting. Let's be determined to look past the symbols of the
season and focus on the Savior.

Dear brothers, I have been talking to you as though you were still just babies in the Christian life . . .
1 Corinthians 3:1 (TLB)
Some people have received Christ but have never reached spiritual maturity. They have been in
church all their lives, and yet they have never become mature Christians. They are still considered spiritual children and babes in Christ. They know little Scripture. They have little desire to pray, and bear few of the marks of a Christian in their daily living. To say, I will resolve
to do better, I will muster all my will power and revise my way of living, is noble, but futile. A
corpse could as well say, I will-through sheer effort-rise out of this coffin and be a living man
again. You need a power outside yourself. You cannot get over the habits and chains that are
binding you. You need outside help. You need Christ.
Ask the Holy Spirit of Christ to transform you from the inside out. Quit striving and abide in
the Vine. Simply respond to the Spirits leading and you will find yourself changing into what
the Lord wants you to be.

And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes
and be careful to obey my rules. Ezekiel 36:27
